Of all people, I can assure you @dilsharox posts purely for the sake of posting, as opposed to actually contributing to the discussion. That's not what I came here to say, however.

Did anyone bother to buff their Thunder using the recent MU sale?

No, I already had Thunder almost M4 even before the MU-update.

If it had been M3 on the MU sale I wouldn 't have buffed it, because imo it 's not keeping up with

the other M3/M4 weapons nowadays.

It might not be (at all) what your are asking for: but at least it 's some kind of contribution... :)

I personally think Thunder had its golden age when it had the two second reload with the 78 - 98 (?) damage per shot.

Sure it reloaded quite fast, but most people had protections paints against this turret, balancing it out.

I only use thunder when the enemy team have no paints protecting against it. It's OP using DP against them :P

That's wise.

People without Thunder protection in their paint are like chickens without feathers :P.

What distances is Thunder effective before losing most of its damage? For example, how well will it do in Stadium? In Monte Carlo, how close would I need to get for it to be nearly at its best? I probably wouldn't be using it in maps like these, but it helps if you know the turret's range. Also, I may end up playing on larger maps for missions, or friend requests. Thanks!

Thunder is best for medium ranged combat. On Stadium, it's best used for attacking enemies in the central areas- it won't do a whole lot of damage against enemies on the opposite side of the map. On Monte Carlo, it's good for use in the upper area, but for optimal damage you should move to the upper middle bridge (where gold boxes usually fall). It's not good for use on the lower bridge, which is usually the domain of Shafts and Railguns.

Thanks. I wanted to make sure it is still quite useable even in extreme maps. I desire a ranged weapon to be the sidekick of my M2 Firebird, which will last me till M3 ranks. Even though Thunder isn't as good, it can cover the longer distances, and I can use it when I am bored of short range. It seems to fit my requirements best, along with Railgun, which I do not really want because of its not-so-good damage/bad reload time and the fact that it is really common. Thanks, again.

Usefulness of M3 Thunder is VERY map specific. Good on Madness, bad on Polygon and Rio. You need to be able to stop enemies from sneaking up on you.

When I use Thunder on Polygon, I make sure to camp under that large ramp and lay a mine. The I shoot into the pit. It's pretty effective if you ask me.

Also good on Massacre map - hardly any self-damage unless you are backed up against the back wall or an enemy locks hulls with you.

Bad on Polygon? You are clueless. I use Thunder in Poly CP and works like a charm (unless the enemy has 6 emeralds, which I have seen before)

I've seen that and yes it is effective, but soon folks will figure it out. You'll start getting picked off by shafts and rails, and firebirds will sneak up behind you and toast you across your minefield.
