OMP?

One man parkour.

Thunder awesome at OMP ;) (1 reason :P, there are several more for example M4 Thunder is kinda OP)

I think the protection paints seem to make it very underpowered.

I think it's Rail people care the most about.

I'm a Thunder user, I love the thing. I think it's underrated, it's really god actually. Only true Thunder users will know this.

Well, for the most recent months Rail has been just.. meh. Most people seem to care about Thunder more than any other turret right now. Even more than Rail.

I don't know if it's just me, but for the past few months, I'd say Thunder seems to be the turret most people care about.

Thoughts on why this may be?

After the impact nerf it became rarer.

Lel. The impact force is still enough for it to be very trollish. It just can't make Mammy jump like it used to. Always fun to sit on one of the jumps in Monte Carlo and ruin other ppl's scores by shooting them at the last second when they hit the jump XD

Both of your Thunders will be changed, since balance updates affect all the turrets of a given type in the game, not just the ones acquired after it. For example, I bought Vulcan shortly after it was released, but when the developers nerfed it a few months later, mine was nerfed too despite me buying it before the update hit.

Long story short, at M4, the reload will be shortened slightly (2.4 seconds), the damage will be reduced by about 8 points, and the impact force will be strengthened. Whether or not it will be more powerful is up for debate.

I don't think that thunder will remain OP after the game balance changes but it will still be my fav* turret :P

I feel like Thunders long range damage is to low. It's close range damage is great able to 3 shot most hulls but it's long range damage sucks. When I was getting shot with a thunder at long range it does very little damage. I would like a buff for range damage but aside from that it's a very good turret.

Yes, but (in my opinion) I like hammer better, can you can shove other tanks around, kinda like rico.

<3 hammer in close combat

When one observes the damage dealt by Thunder, there is a variance of power between shots.

  • Min damage — minimum damage dealt to an enemy tank per one shot of the turret.
  • Max damage — maximum damage dealt to an enemy tank per one shot of the turret.

Like Railgun, I'm guessing there's a standard bell curve as to how shot power is distributed (with 65.5% of each shot dealing damage exactly or very close between both stats, and the remaining 34.5% swaying to either end of the spectrum, potentially surpassing the limits 0.3% of the time)? Or is there something entirely different that I'm missing?

My impression is that all guns with min/max damage are different from Rail.

While Rail has "unlimited" range (distance to target no factor) all the other weapons have an even drop-off in damage as the gun is further from the target. A step-by-step progression downward. An opinion - no stats to prove this...

..and this prgression is linear, it is no bell curve.

For ranger further away then the [min damage range] the weak damage is dealt, which is usually a % of the max damage.

Now this may be wrong... but I had noted weak damage for Thunder at 50%. That would be outrageous doing 52 "weak damage" at ranges greater than 140 feet.

Lets put it that way:

About 1 week ago the wiki article for Thunder contained 3 values for weak damage:

- weak damage splash

- weak damage 50% (seems unrealistic)

- weak damage 9%  (btw smoky has 10%)

I noted that as I made some calculations on DPM for different turrets _& ranges.. and this looked strange.

Today I checked the wiki, and they've fixed it. But the 9% weak damage value is gone, while the 50% weak damage was kept.

I honestly doubt that 50% weak damage is correct.

I think they just delete one of the entries, and picked the wrong one.

It also makes no sense that the [min dmg radius (for splash)] is 0 (zero) meters.

And I doubt that splashdamage has 25% weak damage, because it would mean the effect has unlimited range.

But what I do believe, is that the wiki authors and editors have a bunch full of numbers that they receive from russians with maybe not very clear worded decriptions. If you ever tried  to translate an russian wiki article (sometimes more data) to english via google translate, you might get an idea of the crude translations..
