I like using thunder with Viking cause it becomes almost like a unbeatable destroying turret. Last time, I went into a battle and died so much because my enemy team and my team are all using m2 and m3s and I'm using m1s, so, lame for me.

I find it adorable when I get shot at by Thunder. 210 protection on my Titan M1 plus 12 protection against Thunder is rather funny to me. 14.24 per shot means it will take 14 shots to kill me with M0 which is the most common one at my rank. 3.44 sec reload times 14 means it will take 48.16 seconds to do so. Now imagine me with double armor! 7.12 damage per shot, meaning it will take 28 shots and 1:36.32 duration to kill me.

Don't try to kill me with thunder.

I think you have confused how the protection modules work.

Current M0 Thunder does ~ 49 damage per shot. If you have 12 (%) protection it will do ~ 43 damage per shot you.

Even at Min damage range the 26 damage reduces to ~ 23 damage.

The thing is. I think that if rapid fire thunder comes back it might not be as bad. I mean everyone has like 50,31,20 percent protection against thunder. Its not really fair that it takes too many shots to kill M2 hornet and it loads too long.

Re-balanced Thunder might be better than re-balanced smoky...

Hmmm....in the stats it says 26.24. I know what im talking about. I placed the min. damage since im a shaft user so im not out and about, so you cant inflict max. damage from far away xD Now if one snuck up on me they still wouldnt do much and would end up killing themself xD

Thunder is UP smoky is OP. This rebalance hopefully will make smoky weaker and thunder stronger:)

YES PLEASE

and then you will get rekt by m2 thunder. Or at least, the old thunder. My thunder does 80 max damage per shot*0.88 is 70.4 damage per shot. 210 armour/70.4 damage per shot is 3 shots from m2 thunder. 3 shots*about 3 sec reload=9 seconds to kill you within max damage range. Also, splash damage is 25% of normal damage, so 20 damage per shot*0.88=17.6 damage per shot. 210/17.6=12 shots with splash. So, I will try, and succeed, in killing you with thunder. Assuming I can join a battle with you... Edited by TTK_229

Not sure if you get to add Splash damage - I think that is only on other tanks around you.

As for time... less than 9 seconds. You get a free-bee on the first one as it is already loaded. So only two re-loads.

Maybe in another two ranks xD by then my protection will have increased since i will get the M1 Griffon T-A module which has 150 protection. Why 150? Well everything was multiplied by 10 with the rebalance xD

What?

The modules offer protection as a % of damage subtracted from the weapon firing upon you - not fixed hit point reduction.

15 protection should still be 15% reduction - not 15 hit points.

not how it works. Griffon T-A m1 will have 15% protection from rail, thunder, and shaft.

Splash is _not_ added to the tank you hit directly by your shell.

It is inflicted only to tanks in the surrounding area

I know that it doesn't add splash damage. I have played over a hundred hours with thunder. I was saying that, if he were behind cover, it would take 12 shots to kill him.

Thunder with the reload alteration is just a plain nightmare for me >_> They reload almost as fast as a smoky and its super annoying!

Everyone. I have something to tell you.. Or at least show you. The Tanki people have been lying to us about thunder. We have been hearing lies. Just watch the video https://youtu.be/pmin9XhI1Bg

This was sent by in another topic.

I don't think it was a lie...notice how the damage varied and eventually gets higher and higher. There is not a fixed amount of damage it does every shot.

Yeah this video and my game experience with Thunder irritate me. I have never got my maximum damage (940) in damage counter ingame, the highest value I got was 864 I think. So I want to know what the real max. damage is, before I invest anything in Thunder again.

The real question is not what the max damage is but how the shot damages are distributed along the curve from min to max-we don't know the equation for that. Ideally, the middle would be the average, but who knows? Maybe the damage distribution is skewed to the minimum.

There is no curve as long as you are in maximum damage range.

That's what I thought, and what the statistics show, but according to tests an m4 thunder can't two-shot an m4 wasp or hornet at point-blank range.   The statistics show the max damage of m4 thunder as 1,021 and the max hp of m4 wasp and m4 hornet at 2000.  So there is no reason why they would not die in two shots. NO modules. Maybe it has something to do with how the splash is added on or counted as part of the main damage..i don't know...

Yeah the wasp/hornet are a really good example. If the splash would be added on the hit tank, then it would need to show another figure (so hitting 2 tanks would let you show 3 numbers) and if it was like that then damage differences would be much higher. However, one of the systems seem to be incorrect, either the damage counter or the garage/wiki.

Here is a graphic to show people the principles on which the basic damage parameters work. This can be applied on most of the weapons. In case a weapon deals no weak damage, then they will have a maximum range circle and at the end of the circle you deal the minimum damage.
