is raiden kit woth it??

need viking to pair it wit rico

plus emarald is awesome

How is thunder M3?Good?Bad?

It is the only kit I've bought and Thunder+Viking+Emerald is the combo I use the most. Despite the fact that many said Thunder is trash I've managed to perform really well most of the times with it. The only downside is that sometimes you enter battles in which 50-75% of the players have serious protection against it (especially if you play bigger maps). I don't regret getting this combo M4. It's good in any battle mode if you choose the right maps.

Yeah, they think that thunder sucks when in reality, they fear it, so they get thunder modules to protect themselves from it.

In all my time playing with thunder, I have learned to respect it.

It is a very dangerous turret, but in the right hands, it can be a deadly nuke.

And if you get protect against your own gun, you can not only reduce damage from other thunders, but you can also reduce self damage, and a lot of ppl will be thinking twice before messing with you ;)

Thunder?! Deadly?! It's rather weakest M3! Go with Thunder M3 and Hornet M3/ Wasp M3 in DM polygon wi!th any paint against top ranks, who majority uses Twins/Smoky + Mammoth and don't drug: Let's see how good you'll be in the game against them: somebody try to do this and record it and then upload on youtube and gimme link: let's see how useful thunder is then! Because Thunder M3 is so useless, I'm using Freeze M3 instead and I'm good with that!

wasp is not the best hull to use in DM. Not that many people use it in DM Becuase of its low HP

Totally agreed. Choosing a light hull for Polygon DM is not usually a good ideea because people will always prioritize you as a target since you have low HP. Btw, almost everyone uses heavy hulls in Poly DM and there may be 2-3 people using medium hulls but light hulls? Almost never.

For those of you who use wasp with thunder, you will find out the hard way of why you shouldn't use it in any format except parkour.

-self damage will take a chunk of points from your health.

-recoil of thunder is enough to flip lighter hulls if you aren't careful.

Any thoughts about the alteration for Thunder?  I am interested in the one that removes the splash (self) damage...I'm tired of opponents closing on me so I self destruct.   Has anyone used the alteration?

Seems like it might make Thunder, Smoky on steroids.

I use Wasp/Thunder and sometimes Hornet/Firebird for CTF. Wasp/Thunder is not that bad if you are just trying to go for the flag and you don't care for you K/D ratio.

Viking/Thunder is even better combination :)

Dont buy alteration. You need to save for higher equipment hull and turret.

If self damage irritates you, buy rail or smoky.

Infact thunder with self damage is not very bad.

You just need to be aware of where your enemies are, and keep a safe distance away from them.

Focus on driving back and shooting at the same time.

No, but I bought a very similar alteration for twins, which is quite nice, if I do say so myself

Not to mention the ability to damage tanks indirectly (i.e., around corners, behind barriers, etc.), damage multiple tanks, and damage tanks with slightly off target shots.

The benefits are far more important to the thunder than the negative of self damage IMO.  Just equip yourself with one of the many thunder protections and you are golden.

Thanks for your input on the Thunder alteration.

enri_chill

enri_chill seems to be saying that a protection module for Thunder will lessen damage from opponents AND self damage.  Is this true?  And, if true, is it the samwe percentage of protection for self and enemy damage?

Yes, it offers you the same % of protection against self damage and damage dealt by enemy Thunders.

Thunder has benefits with splash but twins with splash is just a nerf so that is why the alt is better for twins than thunder

Completely agree with you here. I bought the alteration almost immediately for twins. Would never consider losing splash damage on thunder though. Way too many benefits;)

Interesting....hummmm.  Thank you for the clarification.

Another tip for using the thunder...once an enemy closes in on you (assuming you couldn't keep a safe distance between your tank and theirs) look to shoot a wall nearby them (normally behind them a little) and you will finish them off without suffering much damage yourself.

Also you can really take advantage of rocking shots on flat terrain so that the shot hits and splashes enemies in an area that are not directly visible.

Thought I'd share a little more on strategies with the thunder.

My frustration with it is that most (not all) tanks suit up with thunder protection because of its amazing damage potential. My m3 hands out almost 1000 damage per shot at midrange...with DD it is a one-shot kill on all light hulls. Lots of fun. Note: If it doesn't kill the light hulls, I often will flip them over on many boards;)

Hope you experiment with it more and discover the flexibility this turret offers.

I would also definitely get thunder but people have too many protections against it, similar turrets like hammer and striker do more or less same damage with less protections around.

Truthteller, I looked at your profile and didn't see a lot of thunder usage. Do you have an alt account? Just curious.

Hammer won't be doing same damage at long range though. Different roles.
