I'm thinking of getting the M2 alteration on Thunder because I'm more of a Smoky user and I usually fight in short to- medium distances.

I've rented the alteration today and so far I'm quite happy with it.

 

Does anyone have experience with this alteration? Would you recommend it considering my gamestyle?

I rarely use Thunder M4 because I've been using Smoky for so long and I prefer to be a backup for defenders rather than a real defender or attacker.

Go for Thunder/Viking m1, Thunder is so good at M1 in your ranks, you wont regret getting it. :ph34r:

Aunty loves her thunder, I use it near exclusively, almost 5 x more than my backup turret of rico.  In the good ol' days, emerald used to be the bane of my existance, every man and his dog seemed to have it.  It seems everyone gets decent thunder protection somewhere along the line, so it must generally be dangerous.   However I find there are many other turrets that can make a mess of you while you're sitting there waiting for reload, mostly plasma weapons in my experience. On anything up to another viking it will work well, dic is ok, and I don't bother fighting with titan/mammoths any more, I'm just over the slow speed game to take care of them. 

 

But if you can find a nice free flowing battle on small to medium maps, with a decent team, you're indispensable, you can lift a struggling team to a winning position through a bit of though and versatility in how and where you land those rounds.  Into the ground at corners, off background walls, you can effectively shoot round corners, and over obstacles, and of course into a group of isi's trying to keep something else alive.  Softening the enemy up for the others.

 

Wouldn't swap it for anything, although sometimes I still swear at it, as much as by it.

PS: If you really like your thunder, I don't think the alts are of much value, rather than enhancing, they seem to be trying to turn the weapon into something its not.

It gets me through my missions very quickly when I drug hardcore, that is if I find the right battle to do so. And I have the module so that I can do less self damage to myself for when an enemy approaches too close to me.

I know, right? That dude just brags so much about his precious rank so much that it's just ridiculous. Not to mention that he's very arrogant and is a hater on any one that is not a legend. And above all, he is worthy of so much cringe, he makes the same claims repeatedly without any proof or explanation to back up his claims. His answer to anybody that quotes his post is rude, illogical, unproductive, always involves their rank, and worthy of cringe. All of those reasons lead me to put him on my ignore list in the forum, which is why I have stopped quoting his lame AF posts. And it seems to be doing me good.
