Let's Discuss Thunder!

Why do people always say that thunder will be almost useless on mammoths with emeralds?.... i mean, than wouldn't smokys be useless on mammoth with needle paint, and firebird useless against mammoth with Zeus? 

What if that mammoth had needle paint, wouldn't the smoky be useless then?

Well....you are veery wrong my friend....why?...1st: Cause every other turret in the game has standard dmg (that means it can be nerfed with a good paint).....EXCEPT for Smoky...even against a needle painted druggy hull, smoky's crit will do a huuge dmg. 2nd: Thunder is THE most feared turret in this game, because it does pretty big dmg with every single shot and has a decent reload time....the proof is those countless thunder painted hulls out there. I actually did a test myself yesterday...i played 5 Sandbox battles against high ranked players (ranks: Brigadier-Generalissimo) and counted how many anti-thunder paints i saw in those 5 battles...wanna hear the result? 11! That means...with every battle you play in sandbox...you gonna see on average 2.2 anti-thunder painted hulls. And that is very bad for a turret which does a standard dmg (i say standard: it's not really standard..but the range of dmg is small so...we can assume it's standard).

 

P.S: I loooove my thunder very much...and probably gonna keep playin' with it...until i have the crystals to have my Smoky m3....but especially against a mammoth....Smoky is DA BAWS....trust me...i have played many times with both turrets and i definitely know their advantages and disadvantages...and what i loved about smoky is that...you don't fear from ANYONE with smoky...cause you know that a crit is comin' sooner or later. I love Thunder cause  it has that standard dmg+splash dmg, so you have guaranteed a good amount of kills...but when i see a mammoth (and i have thunder), i prefer not to waste my time killin' it and go for easier targets,thus helpin' my team more.So my point is....paints affect every turret except for smoky...and that's what it makes it special (go ask every player you know "Hey, what paints you got?"...i bet you will rarely hear "Needle").

Thunder is awesome upgraded at m1, I upgraded it at halloween sale and its the BOMB,I even see the higher ranks use m1.

I will probably use wasp or mammoth m1 at the early stages, before I get hornet m1.

Trust me...hornet is great (maybe the best) to combine with thunder at all modif...even at m0 ;) It's a really versatile combo (important for non-buyers who can't afford many hulls and turrets) cause it can be powerfull in all types of battles (CTF,DM,TDM,CP). So what i'm saying is...you can save your crystals and not upgrade anything and do GREAT until you get to WO2...where is the time to upgrade hornet to m1....by the time you get to WO4 you gonna have tons of crystals to make your Thunder m1 on time.....and THAT'S where the real party begins (Thunder m1 is totally OP at those ranks).

I can buy thunder m1 right now, but I'm waiting for a sale. I am probably gonna upgrade hornet later, cause everyone always says: guns before hulls.

Told you there would be a sale for Runeta Awards! I'm getting Thunder M1 for 1/2 it's price, then I'm gonna buy a thunder paint and wait for a sale to buy hornet m1. Probably on Christmas, since I have enough for hornet m1 even without a sale, but I'll just wait. I'm so excited!  :lol:

Thanks but no...i decided to stick to my plan...gonna make my tank m3 first then look for secondary upgrades...i'm not a buyer so i have to be carefull what i'm doing....and smoky m2 can't be better from Thunder m3....so imma upgrade Thunder to m3 and save the rest for hornet m3 on next rank! After those we'll see....i want prodigy but it's too far away atm...so maybe then i'll go for smoky!

The highest we've ever seen is a choose the discount thingy, where railgun got 65%

Ain't gonna happen every year. We only see choose the discounts like 3 or 4 times a year, and most are pretty big, like 25% are larger, so I don't mean to smother your hopes, but don't be expecting it.  :ph34r:

Yh...add the daily bonus from Epic Weekend...which is gonna be +22 950....and with the doubled battle funds i'm gonna get about 150k on total....about 90k is going for m3 Thunder and the rest 60k gonna be saved till new year.....in new year sales i hope for a 30-50% sale on hulls...so that i can get m3 hornet on time too!

really am disappointed by the new physics of thunder

I tried all guns on MUs, thunder is still slow and not such a big deal 

I am so sad i wasted crystals on thunder m3 and wont be going with its MUs as well, i will be going with smoky this time, its the epic gun, incredible critical hits upgrade !

please no need to tell me about skills or the pathetic splash damage lol

I can give u the accurate calculations of its MUs or u can get back in posts and see them, but in real practice it was just disappointing on the test server. l

its great just at its m1 and m2 for the low ranks

Thunder is SO AWESOME! I've been playing with it, and I can even get first place in a battle in Noise against a bunch of majors! It's so amazing!
