Is it just me or do I not understand why Railgun has such a gigantically massive fanbase compared to most other turrets? I'd say Railgun is completely overrated, and most of its recent nerfs were brilliant.

Hornet/Railgun and Wasp/Railgun are absolutely awesome! Though they are overused, they really require skill and are fun to play with!

So is Thunder-Wasp. (except the overused part)

Railgun and Dictator should be pretttttty awesome for DMs I suppose. On top of that however, Hornet still takes the lead for being the most suitable hull for Rail! :D

Wasp...Its faster speed and its turret position make it better for dodging and the peek-a-boo tactic. Both hulls are guaranteed to flip anyway. Also, drifting is such an overrated "upside", you stay exposed for longer when turning a corner.

actually popping in and out from behind a wall while using Wasp is not the best, as any turret with moderate recoil changes its course, leading the Wasp to collide with the wall instead of sliding back to cover...

I really don't have that problem with thunder...:x

wait what? In fact it certainly is the best hull to pica boo with. The best reason for this being turrets equipped on wasp are situated well back on the hull allowing the user to expose a small amount of tank when firing. True the course changes due to recoil but in order to collide with the wall/prop you need the entire hull to be out of cover. Why would one take the entire hull out of cover when he/she can do the same thing by only show a fraction of his hull when firing?( especially with wasp) Edited by Athena369

In the process of upgrading the rail gun just wanted people opinions on what micro upgrades should take precedence

Currently prioritising in this order as thinking damage and reload would be optimum

1. Damage

2. Reload time

3. Penetration

4. Impact Force

5. Rotation Speed

Finding it an excellent weapon for mid range battles just needing to get my accuracy at long range as a small offset is amplified into a miss very easily. event the warm up can be used to some advantage for quick re aiming before it launches the projectile

I am going to fully upgrade the parameters on my M0 railgun. How much will the M1 railgun cost after I do that?

its alays an unwise choice to mu your M0 turret/hull. This is simply because all the crystals you spent on the mus will be lost or worthless when you get the next modification of the turret/hull.( when you buy the next modification your micro upgrades will be no longer be in effect. So the wisest thing to do would be to start micro upgrading when you get your m3's . This applies not only to railgun but every other turret and hull in tanki. However you can always the first 2 or 3 parameters of a certain turret/hull. This is because the cost efficiency of the first 2 or 3 MU s is really high.

Please go through my above quote as well. I highly recommend NOT to mu your m0's. These guides might also help you understand what I mean.

such a waste for 3 extra damage for one crystal very much very. it's almost a given to MU the first few steps regardless as they are the most cost effective tbh.

I'd suggest doing the MUing at the M2 - M3 mark. M2s are usually where it'll be the most effective as you try to rank up. However, with Railgun, there isn't much need to MUanything here, as notwithstanding M2 Railgun can decently take on some M3s without too much difficulty. Like Loackie said, with Rail, the first few MUs are more worth your time.
