Guys i am new to this game and this is my first FPS game. My skill are not all that great to begin with, but I love to see rail work, especially those who are good with it. Can you give some advice how to get good with it and which maps are good to learn on. Hoping to buy M1 Rail on Tanki Day

                                                       simple facts about railgun

80% of tankers own railgun. but only 20% uses it properly. 7% are the esports clans. and the rest of that percentage are the players. railgun is considered a legend amoungst other turrets. as it could a lot due to it's simplisity. making it very effective at any range. and here comes a small tip. do not go up against close range weapons. as they are it's bitter enemy. in mid range battles. it does pretty well against smokey. thunder. and even twins at some ocassions. if you use it right. and in long range battles. there is where railgun can put up to it's reputation. as it's damage ratio does not lowers in the distance. but when using it against it's older brother as some likes to call shaft. it takes skills when fighting shaft in open spaces with railgun. railgun is  great for all hulls. and with the tweaks tanki had. there is no more risk at flipping off when using it on wasp. or hornet. i hope these details helped some. more will come on other hulls and turrets. goodbye :)

Did you know the railgun XT bullet is white?xD

Anyway, the chance for that mission is like 1 at 10.000 -_-

i try to get it but never comes at gismo account

First you must be lucky to get one of the two rare missions, being 9 999 kills and 99 999 experience points. If you've got such a mission, the chance that the reward is XT Railgun/XT Hornet is 1 in 100. So if you've got 100 of the rare missions, 1 of them must have XT as a reward.

Seeing that gold boxes chances are 1/7000 but they barely drop, I gotta disagree with cha ;p

Railgun? More like Failgun. Takes 4 M3 rail shots to kill my m3 hunter with digital. 4. Isnt rail supposed to be a high damage weapon?

NOTHING IS BETTER THEN RAIL GUN :P

And no shaft is.

And no shaft is.

It is indeed supposed to be such a high damage weapon. Digital's incredible resistance to Railgun shots reduces damage by near half. Normally, a Hunter would require two Railgun shots to finish it off, right? All of the weapon's power is concentrated in one shot, which means Digital reduces the effect at the same time upon impact, leaving you with (surprise surprise) much more health than you would have left had you ditched the paint. Rail is indeed a high damage per shot turret, and one tank having an incredible resistance to said weapon doesn't change the fact altogether.

Shaft vs Railgun is a feud that will likely never see an end. In summary, neither is necessarily better than the other overall (since if you were to equip Jade or something of that nature on to your tank, the paint would have the same effect on Shaft rounds as it would with Digital's Railgun resistance, right? Under the logic you stand by, would that make Shaft a low damage weapon, too?), but there are certainly cases where one can outclass the other.

For example, Shaft finds it very hard to keep up with Railgun in situations where enemies are in great numbers nearby. With Shaft needing to absolutely stop its movement, charge its cannon for at least a good three seconds, and then fire, rendering itself completely defenseless in the process, some can see the advantages of using Railgun in its place. While on the move, it can continue firing at a slightly faster rate than Shaft, making it better suited for universal conditions.

Of course, if you are indeed looking for a specialist distance weapon, Shaft can easily outclass Railgun. With Mammoth, you can squat in one place and snipe like there's no tomorrow; with lightweight/medium weight hulls, you can travel the map for a safer post to guard. Yes, Railgun is capable of the same thing, but Shaft does this job with greater efficiency by dealing more damage when at full sniping power. Just figure out a way to hide that irksome laser sight (honestly, since we already had crosshairs, I feel the addition of this contraption is redundant to the user. Yes, I know, it was created to prevent Shaft from becoming too powerful, but still...) before firing, and everything will be fine.

Shaft is more of a specialist weapon than Railgun. That doesn't necessarily mean that it's better than Railgun. I'd say they have equal powers within the game's borders, just possibly in different sections.

I use a Viking-M1/Railgun-M0 combo. It takes time getting used to the slow reload. It is NOT a neanderthal weapon like Firebird or Twins where you ram the target and hit <Space Bar>. The Railgun is a very elegant weapon that requires patience and precision. It can hold its own against other turrets in the right hands and in the right maps. Take the time to learn it, you won't regret it!

My nephew introduced me to this game. I mean, I've seen him play it for a couple of years now but never really paid attention. He is a Hornet/Freeze player. However, I asked him to try a Hornet/Railgun combo. He was getting killed a lot at first, but now he actually likes it better because skill is involved and loves a challenge.

I'm a noob, but I don't care. TankiOnline is addictive. The first weekend I was free, I played for 36 hours straight. I better relax a bit…..
