If there was no xp/bp would railgun still be a popular turret?

Hmmm

At low ranks, yes. If railgun wasnt popular at low ranks, then i think thunder would be

At higher ranks. Railgun isnt popular. Never was. I think

Railgun needs a buff :)

The devs don't care what you want, who you are, or how long you have been playing for. Railgun is already strong enough. You're just a noob using it. So instead of annoying everyone else here, kindly quit Tanki please?

Railgun is still very, very popular up here (thanks to XP), it just isn't the first choice in non pro battles since a large majority of the people up here have 35% or more Railgun protection equipped. Heck, many people are still using their Prodigi LGCs.

The only change I think Railgun needs is a decrease in the damage range. No other turret has such a large difference between min and max damage. Getting low rolls is annoying if you are a Railgun user and getting hit by high rolls is annoying if you are the recipient. Sure, that would kill the alteration, but let's face it, who uses it anyway?

You shall as well rename the turret.

Rail was my favorite foe a long time but more and more I find that everyone has a module against it and combined with DA it's pretty useless. One shot today scored 192!

Still useful in the pro games (apart from the module) and great for flipping people in low grav games.

My M2+ Alt Rico is outscoring my M2+ Rail by about 2-1 with no drugs if you count damage per second.

New low hit score of 184! I think twins manages better.

Not so sure it needs a buff as much as the whole game could do with rebalancing. Magnum rules at the moment, as soon as team gets most of it's players on overdrive then the game is pretty much over and you are pinned down and cut to pieces, and the the winner/loser payout is a bit one sided. 15 minutes for 18 Xtals 3rd on the losing side, c'mon.

You know what? I actually agree, I think the shell stabilization alteration should be the default railgun while the current default railgun can be renamed to the "shell unstabilization" alteration.

That way xpbp battles might be a bit more balanced and fun.

Hello and good after morning :) ,

I have an great idea , why don't tanki just BUFF railgun ? Buff rail please .

You know, I used to complain about how unstable Viking was. I tried to convince them to give Viking back it's old stability but they didn't do it. So what I learn from tanki is that it's best not to make our complaints at all unless many ppl have the same problem.

Yes. One or two people (plus their sockpuppets) obsessing on a pet issue is not going to do anything except waste time.

I'm referring to the turret's unparalleled ability to travel any distance in any map. That's what I'm referring to the wiki. That's why this turret was designed.

I think you two have wires crossed.

If I'm understanding correctly...

3rdOnion is discussing fact that at any range Rail does variable damage - not affected at all by distance.

So M3 rail does 548-1414 ( 981 average ) regardless of distance from target.

FINISHER possibly misread "range" as "distance".  Using the word "variable" instead of "range" might remove confusion.

Now that I read it again, I agree with your opinion. The damage range has a high standard deviation which needs to be controlled more precisely.

Thanks for enlightening me, wolverine. :)

Why is Rail-Wasp such an unappreciated combo compared to Rail-Hornet? Rail-Wasp has the same health, but overall better speed and steering..less stability but this can be mitigated in the hands of a skilled driver. For XP/BP, why WOULDN'T you take Wasp over Hornet?

I use hornet a lot, after using hornet for a while it feels weird using wasp..but that's just me.

It depends on the players preference. For me, hornet has more stability and turning speed and is slightly lower than wasp. Plus, in my own opinion, hornet looks better than wasp.
