Agreed, unless enemy is hiding in proximity to walls, towers, etc. Then the splash damage from a full assault of striker is ridiculously easy compared to any other turret.

Well Railgun is a very good turret but really needs a huge change. I usually use Railgun-Hornet to just chill out and have some fun. =) Overall it is great.

I just observed a railgun-wasp coming first on no supply DM so it seems pretty strong (considering there were lots of M4 mammoth-shafts, titan-strikers, viking-firebird etc).

M1&Mo rail are weak

bt from M2 Onwards its really nice

also if you have the m2 alt you can 1 shot every hull other than Titan&Mammoth with DD

Here's my stance on the Railgun debate...

 

Railgun when first created was insanely OP, which led to a quick nerf by the devs. It then, for the most part, stayed the same until the recent-ish update that apparently screwed it over. However, you must first take into account that the nerf from before was hardly enough, and it still remained a huge problem in game balance. Then came along the nerf that literally revolutionized Railgun's gameplay. Shorter reload, but at the cost of heavily reduced damage.

 

Right now, Railgun is a midrange to shortrange turret. This was a huge change from before, when you could sit at the top of a hill and one shot everyone (but if you got approached by a shortrange you were screwed). Now, you can still compete at shortrange, but you cannot snipe as effectively. The main issue that I see with Railgun complainers is that they are too used to sniping and cannot adjust to the new gameplay. They then attempt to continue sniping with it, but it just isn't meant to be a super effective sniper anymore, Railgun is a midrange turret. That is the only issue that people have with Railgun. It could do with a very, very slight min-damage buff though.

 

TL;DR: The problem with Rail is that people use it to snipe, which isn't what you're supposed to do. You should be using Rail as a midrange turret or for suppressive fire. Rail is perfectly viable if you use it as it's meant to be used.

Yeah I like rail with alts its really good , but its so expensive. Not worth spending on it, just save that 100k and get an Op turret or save for m3 kits :D.

Would've been better if they had it like this:

 

10 exp for fully healing a light hull. 20 exp for fully healing a medium hull. And 30 exp for fully healing a heavy hull.

Rail is not worth it after deciding its weak DMG , we don't need to buy the gun again for 50k (alt) just to make it decent .

Railgun is the way to go... get the alt on 50% discount and MU. Unlike fire/freeze/isida etc you don't have to put your butt on the line for a team of noobs... just sit back and pepper the enemy... lots of easy kills and seriously annoying for the opposition.

Its bad for me idk why :( thunder kill light hulls by 3 shots and rail kill light hulls by 3 shots too, kidding me ? But thunder way way faster this are unbelievable dead game balance , but I support the railgun buff idea tho.

The devs nerfed the railgun a couple years ago and gave it alterations that are better than the standard version, because it's a great marketing strategy.

Will 10% Mon DMG buff make rail kill hunter by 2 shots ? No, will it make rail kill viking by 2 shots ? No. Will it make rail kill dictator by 2 shots ? No. Will it make rail kill titan by 2 shots ? No. Will it make rail kill mammy by 2 shots? No. Alt make rail do.

 

 

Do this mean anything ? Yes 10% min DMG buff won't make rail as it with the alt so there will be no change that made players to not buy the alt so its okay for devs income and rail gun balance to buff railgun min DMG by 10%.
