Unless if it's an xpbp battle, a railgun will always equip double damage

 

And unless the enemy is well protected against it, they won't stand a chance.

Yes but railgun isnt a good turret anymore any turret can beat it, it needs a buff

I don't think the standard version gonna get a buff and here's why:

 

Tanki profits from the alterations that make railgun better in some way.

 

Besides even if you give it a buff, it still faces the onslaught of protections against it.

I want some experienced railgunner to tell me whether the "Compulsive Herald of Death " alteration or the "Shell Destabilisation" alteration is better for both Non-Pro (Matchmaking) battles on the Hornet-Railgun combo.

I wanna know as I've got an account in General rank and I'm not sure which of the two will work better on the Hornet-Railgun combo in  Non-Pro battles. Please help me.

You aren't going to be able to use any alterations in xpbp battles, because alterations will be disabled at default and locked, meaning you can't change it.

Shell destabilization is very interesting to use, it has a lower damage per minute than the other alterations but it's instant damage can reach huge values. Very helpful for capture flag/assault battles, not so much for DM.

 

CHD can be helpful if there are many easy targets out there to make use of the instant reload, but other than that I don't know how it could help a lot.

Raigun isn't the most boring. 99.95% of my XP collected so far comes from it and hornet.

I suppose only two are meant to be better than SD for CTF battles, the 'Large caliber rounds' alteration for its high damage output, and 'Hyperspace rounds' if you're really good at aligning the enemy team players.

I don't like the higher caliber ammo as it increases reload time and heat-up time at least twice as drastically as it increases damage. Even so damage bonus is good, but I prefer Shell Destabilisation to HCA. Thanks for the help though!

Can anyone over here tell me which is the best alteration for hornet-railgun in CTF and CP formats?

Large caliber rounds are OP.

 

But the electromagnetic accelerator "scout" is also a great alteration.

I don't like HCR due to it's increased reload and heat-up, but is Electromagnetic Accelerator better than Shell Destabilisation?

The LCR makes railgun what it once was before the rebalance update of October 2016, the longer reload time isn't much of a hassle, neither is the heat up time.

 

I haven't tried the EA scout alteration, but it might be good for small maps like probably sandbox and red alert.

 

And that shell destabilization alteration, is more like gambling for damage with each shot.

So, LCR vs HSR now.

LCR isn't that great

 

I had it since m2 level and it used to be great that I could 1 shot kill viking without protection but got useless at higher ranks, firstly the +50% charge time is bad, standard railgun does more damage overtime than LCR is only good if you drug double damage the whole time to 1 shot people without double armor and you are useless against anyone with +40% railgun protection which is like 20-40% of people and LCR isn't good against heavy hulls.

 

so a normal battle for me with LCR is like 40-60% that I am useless against because of +40% railgun protection or they are heavy hulls leaving me like 20% of people I can 1 shot kill

 

Standard railgun is better because of higher DPS overtime

 

Round destabilization is better version of LCR with slightly higher average damage no 50% charge time and 20% more impact

 

But my favorite alteration of railgun is Hyperspace which has unlimited possibilities I will definitely get it on sale

Well, another thing in favour of it is that the damage is only -10%, so with this on an m4, my damage range should be 800-1440 with 200% penetration. Only downside (in my opinion) is the reduced impact force.

Another downside is that LCR's 50%+ charge time takes a while to get used to when firing the moment you leave cover.

 

after they introduce new alternation for rail, tanki purposely increase the heat-up time to make those more expensive alternation more appealing.

 

before that, LCR only reduce reload time, no affect on press-to-shoot delay as a normal railgun.

 

I can definitely feel the slower delay in my LCR rail, as I use railgun for 6 year on my legend account. it is like after I press spacebar, what.... still not shooting... jammed .... bang, finally, it shoots. totally change the play style timing.
