No longer blue flames, don't know why they changed it. After Rebalance the color just turned into same red for all Ms.

I'm tempted to get protective paint against firebird but if they are close enough to damage you, changes are you will still die...

Firebird's arent that difficult to deal with. At your rank, people doesn't really use it well. Just get a long range weapon, hold space and back away.

For the most part I've been doing that but sometimes I get caught in a small area and end up paying for it :(

Firebird has definitely changed. One thing nice is you can afford to use firebirds consumption more due to the long consumption and short reload time. The burn effect is also nice even though its much different than it used to be.

I have M2 Fire and I use it with M2 Hunter...it does fairly well since I have MU'd it about 9 steps so far...damage 54.5...only thing is that there are quite a lot of players at that rank who have Inferno or other fire protection...so, you have to pick your battles....like today, there were 2 Lt.Generals also playing fire and one had Zeus and the other had Inferno!!! I am guessing the Zeus chap must have bought it when the previous Light Tank M3 used to be around

I have had to modify gameplay slightly after rebalance to avoid kill stealing....now you have to deal maximum damage at the first contact rather than wait for the after burn to work since the 5 hp per sec damage, even if it lasts for a very long time is still enough if the other player can find another isida or freeze....more initial contact means more chance that you will get destroyed if you use a light hull which is why Hunter works beautifully for me....

 

also, kill stealing has increased now to the detrimental effect of firebird users...i sometimes have players just following me around waiting for me to deal the initial damage as well as expose myself to take the initial damage from the other player also

i agree i do that sometimes too let the mammoths take all the damage and then come in and steal the kill.  It is not a fair way to play but it gets you kills

Firebird M2 is better than M2 Freeze. The after burn finishes them off pretty easily if you don't destroy them in initial charge.

I am talking about people who use turrets other than firebird and kill steal...that is detrimental to firebird users....

You know what's a dream come true for a firebird user....a group of tanks sitting together in the open with no place to hide....activate double power alone and you can really cook some tanks....one place usually dominated my Freeze and Twins is Sandbox CP....was in a match today versus a Freeze, a twin, a rail and a ricochet....on my side, alongwith my firebird, there was an isida, a thunder and another ricochet....match results shows complete dominance by firebird...the ric on there team bugged out....I might look forward to the new CP update after all
