which map(s)/mode did you play in when you acquired the Firebird-M3?

I'm skipping Wasp M2 and getting Wasp M3 (since they are not far apart in unlocking) from Boreas Kit. My current Wasp M1 is MUd 31/50 and has 120.6 protection (almost M2 level) so it is really not much different than Wasp M2. Once I reach Major General I can start the MU process for my dream tank (although I will want to set aside some crystals for Prometheus Kit).

Heh, you said "some" crystals for Prom.. You mean nearly 500k. Anyway, your plan sounds sweet, as long as you aren't suffering with the M1 Wasp.

I'm not. I have Hunter M2 for backup as well. My Wasp actually has the advantage over Wasp M2 of being underestimated. People will think I am really weak and charge me and then I just finish them off with my Firebird. Everyone's expecting ~90 - 100 protection, I have 120.

I think Firebird is a great gun and its one of my two most used guns. The way the enemy tank stays heated up a few seconds even after you have stopped firing is great because even if they destroy you first the heat take down the last few bits of armor on their tank. That is why I think its better than freeze. I have the M1 and I hope to get the M2 and the M3.

Ok so I need help. I couldn't find anywhere else on this forum to post so I'll post here, since my question involves firebird. 

 

I like firebird and I have it m1. I want to continue to upgrade it to m2 and onward. My question is, will it cost more to micro upgrade it all the way to m2 or will it cost more to just save my crystals and upgrade it to m2 when I am rank enough? Any recommendations are appreciated.

ok not sure if any of you have noticed..that if you are in battle and fire is shooting at u if you go under there turret right beside them ..the fire that is shot out goes over u and u get no / or little to none in damage. you need to use dictator or any tank above the hight of lower hulls... this also works for freeze  also ...

The cost of further fully MUing it to m3 is about the same as price of m3 fire, about 300k.

 

 

Problems:

1. I have no good protection, all I have are cheap.

2. With m2 hornet, most of the time I can't fully discharge my fire before I get killed, even with double armour.

 

Question:

1. Is it a good idea to fully MU my fire to m3? Will I get m3 fire for free then?

 

2. Buy a stronger hull (which one)

3. Buy a decent protection (which one)?

MUing an item fully without speed ups costs exactly twice the amount as getting the next version of that item directly.

It is, most often, worth it to micro-upgrade turrets between modifications with a high rank difference. With a decent economical sense you can get the next mod's stats much before it's even unlocked. This probably works best on:

M1->M2:

M2->M3:

1. At least get to 30/50 if you can. Yes, M3 for free ONLY if you MU to 50/50. The choice is yours.

2. I use Viking and it can take punishment. You would probably do better if you MU it a little bit.

3. Personally, since Firebird is a short-range weapon, you will most likely need to survive against other shorties. A few of modules I would suggest now that they are even protection across the board: 

 

Short-Range > Badger T-E (Fire/Hammer/Isida) (LGC Module: Mars) 

Mid-Range > Lion T-D (Hammer/Rico/Twins) 

Long-Range > Griffon T-A (Rail/Shaft/Thunder) (LGC Module: Corrosion)

My latest game with it; up to generalissimos, without any supplies. It can kill mammys in one charge, that is actually helpful compared to freeze.

I like firebird because i like seeing those hulls go red more redder and most redder, so hot till then they die. Only turret which can kill even after being dead. it looks are also good in m2 and m3. Only i dont like m0 because it doesnt do red too much, sometimes we cant even notice it. Firebird means doing red red red! i like red color! :D :P

Mu ing any turret or hull is mostly double the price of next modificaion, i mean full Mu ing it. It will be nice if you Buy next modification but you can Mu it till 10 which will cost very less and still valuable, its different if you are too less ranked and lots of crys, only mu it fully if you have that much crys that much you need to MU it, this will help - http://en.tankiwiki.com/Micro-upgrades, here you can find cost of each step of mu for all turrets, hulls and modules.
