Are we really gonna start this whole debate again...

Yes . Freeze is needs much more skill than firebird . With firebird you just shoot at the enemy not caring if you will get killed because in the end you will kill him too.

If you don't care of being killed, then you are fighting with the wrong attitude which to me equals to skill-less...

^ second that.

Both weapons (including Isida) can and should be used in a similar fashion.

Unfortunately you do see a vast majority of straight-forward attacks, a bit more common I guess with Firebird

which weapon is more forgiving if wrongly used, because of the quick huge damage it inflicts.

Though the Firebird itself isn 't "unskilled", the driver is: simply a lack of driving skills.

Use a faster hull and circle/strafe around your enemy if that 's possible.

Than you will have a good chance of surviving.

This basic technique applies very well to all three close-range weapons.

So indeed if a Tanker doesn 't seem to care of being killed: they are still unskilled.

The circling technique can be applied to firebird and isida, but it doesn't give you that feel of control you get with freeze. Also, since the enemy remains frozen and can't turn the turret fast enough, you receive less damage with freeze. If there is less space, you can even drive your tank back and forth to avoid the damage. Firebird and isida are good, but freeze suits me better.

True, Freeze is the most effective weapon for this technique. Still it can be applied to Firebird and Isida too.

At least Tankers should try to drive in irregular ways, instead of bumping straight into the enemy who will consequently get the change

to inflict as much damage as possible.

Personally, I'm more of the 'wait, huh, what the..., ahh burn, where the hell did that come from technique'. Edited by DiSoRderLY

M1 firebird is so frustrating to use... no matter how well you plan out your attack, you don't have the DPS to kill him/her before they can kill you. Yes, I would consider myself fairly skilled at firebird as I used to win the majority of my 15min+ TDMs with it pre-nerf.

The nerf was that they changed the system of the "burn" after-effect. It would do more damage overall but in a much longer space of time. It's frustrating because as I feel it does less damage within a smaller timeframe.

I agree, that was a nerf alright. It's really a shame they changed that...

So I'm using Hornet M1 with Firebird M1 and currently I'm at Warrant Officer 2, but the problem is I don't think I can use firebird m1 until m2 unlocks, My guess is that it will last me until first lieutenantish so the question is what do I do from first lieutenant until major.

PS I don't plan on using another hull as I already spent 23k crystals on hornet m1

Isida is a great, cheap and versatile option that will help you muchly! :)
