austen_pierce, Sadly, I'm having that dilemma, putting a few expensive MUs into Ricochet that don't change the stats too much or put a lot of relatively cheap MUs into Freeze or Isida which upgrade the turret parameters a lot. I'll probably end up choosing Ricochet, just because like you, I absolutely adore it.

BRO!

I've paused MUing my Rico at about 32/50 but only because I am very close to M4 on my Viking and want to finish that process. Then I will come back to Rico, then maybe buff my Twins.

Well, Rico is actually my 3rd main weapon after Smoky and Twins...(Rail is for fun.) I'm already having 25/50 MUs on Rico M3, might as well I finish it to 50. I usually used it when my team is not heavily outclassed and in the lead in the CP. Clay is an annoying problem, but so is Africa & rock. Usually a good team would help the enemy Clay tanks busy... Also, Rico helps to flush out tanks inside the tunnel.

I always spam it with DD... but my hull cannot take much flak due to Viking M3(8/50), so I'm leaving it on the back burner for now until my hull is stronger (unless I use Titan)

+++

Rico is the Anti-Isida of Poly CP. Those turkeys just can't hide in the tunnel. Even when two or more Isidas drug and heal each other, Rico with DD can clean them out.

Viking with Rico is good but not great for Poly CP. You cannot hold the point with it, even with lots of MUs. Let the heavy hulls hold the point while you and your Rico-Viking circle the perimeter doing as much damage as possible to enemies as they spawn and make their way to the pit. PrincessSeraphina, I have seen you exploit this tactic with Dictator and Rail. But you also make a very good point - so much depends on what your team mates are doing. If too many of them are hanging back, I'll switch back to my Titan Twins combo (both have approx 10 MUs) and drug like crazy to hold the point. Turned a battle last night going this.

The amount of clay paint users in the Gismo ranks is absurd lol.

Rock is also a problem. I keep Smoky is reserve for battles with both, otherwise I alternate between my favorite Rico and the very useful Twins.

Zeus also shows up a lot, which is basically the Gismo version of a noob paint in Poly CP. I say that because the turrets it protects against are not common in Poly CP. Not even Firebird. For that matter (posted this elsewhere) there needs to be a wake up call to high M2 rank players not to invest too much in M3 Firebird and M3 Fire protection - neither is very useful in or near Gismo ranked battles. The exception is if you want to use Vulcan - Storm plus Vulcan is nearly invincible - nearly. You are still vulnerable to Rico, Thunder, Rail, and Twins.

I got M3 on my alt, it's gonna take me a while to get use to the faster fire rate and how to use it, even though I used it on M2. Has any one else gone through this before (getting use to faster projectile speed and fire rate)? But overall, I think it will need at least 20 MUs to be somewhat 'Gissimo material. So far, to sum it up, it's been an excellent investment.

Hey NewbieCake,

Yeah, I went through every mod - taking a quick break between Brigadier and Marshal, using Jackhammer to bridge.

Somewhere along the way - I think I was M2 at the time - Tanki devs buffed Rico by vastly increasing the projectile speed, later the nerfed it's damage but only slightly. That took some getting used to. But it was awesome.

I've noticed Tanki seems to be very careful with what they change with Ricochet. It's mostly been improvements over the last two years. Perhaps there is a concern that a serious NERF might leave Rico collecting dust. Regardless I don't think it is overpowered. It's just a very nice turret, which packs a wallop.

The thing I like best is that damage does not decrease with distance. YES!

Long road to an answer but actually I had MUd my M2 so much that I didn't notice much change with M3. This was initially disappointing but made sense since I had stupidly dumped nearly 20 MUs into my M2.

I just put MU 38 into my M3. Now, that beast packs a PUNCH.

I mostly play Gismo level Poly CP games, catching PrincessSeraphina when I can. ;). The other night I found my RicoViking in a non-Gismo PolyCP battle. my Viking is 44/50. I'll just say that we won easily.

^Nice! My rico is currently 29/50. I say it's a little tough to get first places (if i stick to it all the way), but usually I ended up 3rd and lower. (But the scores are rather similiar, so it's okay  )

Didn't you just buy Rico? Or was is Dictator that you just bought to pair with Rico. 29 MUs  seems like a lot for a recent purchase.

I brought Rico on the day of the turret sale but didn't MU it on the MU sale because I was out of funds then. I only started MUing it recently.

As for Dictator, I didn't quite like it, so I decided to stick with viking.

30 MUs now and still going...

Damn girl! :) I bow to your superior Crystal earning abilities.

I picked up three turrets and Titan on the June sale but haven't put more than 10-ish MUs into any of them. I'm Poor :P

Rico is a support weapon...

I would agree. It's excellent for picking off enemies one by one, you just need to time your shots correctly or else you're going to run out of fuel often.

I'm still getting use to the projectile speed - even though my M2 Rico was MUd 22 times, the projectiles moves way fast.. My shots go in front of the tanks that I'm trying to hit sometimes. But if you get up close and personal, enemies have a hard time hitting you. The 'bash' tactic works really well on Isidas and Hammers often.

And I'm gonna wait for the Tankman's day sales - I'll begin to MU then. For now I'll stick with my 1/50 MUd Rico :P

Experiment undertaken, and finished.

With Rico Viking: http://prnt.sc/bw7j83

With Rico Hunter: http://prnt.sc/bw9gcx

Both Battles are without micro-upgrades. Desert had pickups enabled and Future had smart supplies enabled. Both were done using the module from Savannah. Changing equipment was enabled in both, but I never changed once in either.

This goes to show all what hull they will want to pair with Rico M3, and all who say Hunter is totally useless. Now I have proof to disagree, if the stats in the garage are not enough already.

I prefer Hunter over Viking with Ricochet too :P. However, Hunter M3 nearly has the same HP as Viking M3, and has a lot more speed. M4 level they are equal, so the best way to test it would to use both hulls at M4 level.

People say Ricochet is better with Viking because they don't like the weight of Hunter and how the recoil affects it. Also, not many people have Hunter M4, and a TON of people have Viking M4, so most people don't have the experience of using Hunter+Ricochet M4.

I'm mostly involved in Polygon/Noise/Arena CP DM & CP with SCDs & Mus enabled, so I'mma just  stick with Viking. I hope that's the correct move for me to pair with Rico M4. Besides, DMs are unpredictable anyway and I hate large maps.

I just saved & played a lot, that is all :P

I couldn't do anything for Rico/Viking because I choose to make my other things M4 first.

I'm Wondering what the future of Rico protection is. Players who bough Clay are still prowling around Gismo battles. But eventually this will turn over into module buyers and those legacy Clay protections will become rare. This is good news for us Rico lovers.

The question is how many players will buy M3 modules with Rico protection? Depends I think on what else is in there, since Rico is not super common the way Twins, Isida, and Rail are. What do you think?
