Anyone have the 'Unstable Plasma' alteration? How is it? Any personal opinions would be great.

Nope, sorry buddy, but from my guess and experience with thunder and polygon Cp battles, i would say it would be great for polygon Cp, combed Cp, arena Cp, sandbox Cp. So mainly use it for polygon Cp, and get Rico protection too.

Many people say that there aren't many players using modules with protection against Rico. This is true, unless you go and play Poly CP (and maybe Arena CP as well) because Lion T-B (Fire, Twins, Rico) is the most popular module I've seen there.

Hmmm......

Should i stay with my m1 twins (saving for m2) or switch to rico m1 (and start saving for m2 rico) . I used rico-mammoth through warrant officer until i got twins on sale. However, rico (on drugs) is pretty OP. Which 1 should i choose? Anything will be appreciated

Why did you buy m1 Rico? it would have been a better investment to skip to M2 in Rico's case.

ricochet + wasp/hornet= huge NO!

ricochet + titan/mammoth= small no/maybe/small yes

ricochet + dictator/hunter/viking= huge YES!

ricochet + unstable plasma = NO if you do parkour or YES if any enemy tank is directly ahead of you!\

ricochet vs isida = ricochet win!

After testing and playing with Ricochet's Unstable Plasma alteration, I've found that the alteration is terrible in CTF  if you are in offence (due to self splash damage) but if you stay in defence, it's fine. I've also found that this alteration does really well in CP, TDM and somewhat in DM. I've been able to heavily damage and destroy a group of enemy tanks that are close to each other while capturing a Control Point! I also experienced several situations in where I could've easily used the Ricochet effect against the wall to destroy an enemy tank, but couldn't because of the removed ricochet effect. A good thing is because of the splash damage, you could shoot at the wall where and enemy tank is, and cause damage that way, if you miss the shots or they are slightly hiding from your view.. Overall, I like this alteration but it obviously has its cons. Most of the time I probably will not use this alteration, because I almost exclusively play in CTF. But that may change ;)

I would recommend this alteration only to those who use Ricochet very actively, and/or have extra crystals lying around. It's almost not even worth the 100,000 crystals for me personally.

For 50,000 (25k on sale) the Field Stabilization alteration is great value for the money.

At a penalty of 20% on re-load you double the effective range and the balls go so fast they are difficult to dodge.

I equipped after buying and have kept equipped ever since.

Will get it in sale and try it out also, sounds like it's really good..

Been awhile since I've posted here. I was very active with my posts on this thread as I ranked up toward Brigadier. Rico was my one true love.

Then I started playing high rank battles. Had to switch to Hammer. Rico just didn't do damage fast enough.

I'm back here because I've noticed Ricochet making a comeback in an unlikely place - Polygon CP - no supply.

The short version is that without supplies and overdrives Rico can once again serve its purpose as a heavy hitting midrange turret. It excels at weakening enemies headed to the point. Fire five balls at that Titan headed to the pit. Don't bother finishing him off - let your teammates do that. Shift to another enemy, and fire off another five shots to the next enemy approaching the point. Again, don't finish the enemy off. Find another one. The point is you let enemies get to the pit but in a severely weakened state. Remember - no repair kits in NS battles, so they can't fix themselves. Those enemies get killed quickly by your teammates at or near the point. And while you are searching for more enemies, your Rico recharges, so you aren't running dry as often.

Since it's Poly CP you'll want to pair Rico with Titan. Viking can be useful but if you're gonna trade off health for speed that way, give yourself an extra advantage and use Freeze instead - another great spoiler for Polygon CP NS

QUESTION about Unstable Plasma - How much splash damage does Rico do? I ask because Twins' unstable splash damage is an absolute joke.

I don't know about the damage part. But it's splash radius is 7 meters which is literally 14 meters in diameter.

So a 14 meter circle around the point of impact. Isn't a game square 10 meters or is it 5? I forget. Either way, that doesn't sound like a lot of splash.

Its not, but if there are 2 tanks hugging eachother you can hit them. The worst part is, since the devs are too lazy to add a splash animation you have no idea how big the radius is.

Well, you can tell if you've splashed a tank based on whether or not a damage number appears above them. That's how I've gauged my effectiveness with Thunder.

I think a visible splash radius would be quite usefull actually. Plus it'll look cool.

Like some sort of shockwave that's there for miliseconds.

I made something a while back with some sort of shockwave effect, but that's some slowmotion.. in game these things should happen in the blink of an eye. Just a tiny bit of distortion around the projectile. The effect should be so small that someone can only spot it if they actually try to see it; more or less.

It's worse than useless in the majority of PRO Battles. It singnificantly decreases the DPS...

If you play bigger maps (larger than Polygon) then it's worth it.

Not to mention that many of the pro battles have alterations turned off.

Not really - yes, I've seen alteration-off PRO battles, but I'd say most are created with alterations ON. Why?

Twins and Thunder users don't want self damage

Hammer users want those 5 shots

and in general other folks who have paid for alterations want to use them

Rico is one of the turrets that doesn't need any alteration to perform well in most of the PRO Battles. Others are: Isida, Thunder, Vulcan and ofc Striker and Magnum. That's why I may consider getting Rico before Hammer for example.
