More importantly than all that is visibility. I am constantly checking the view to the sides and the rear.  I cannot always do that  by turning my hull. Not can I kill foes pursuing me when I have the flag, etc.

For Guido "you could simply turn it in situations where this is the case and don't when it doesn't affect much". Exactly. That is why the people who NEVER rotate their turrets are considered less skilled.  The key word is never and it is meant literally.

BINGO!

It's kind of funny if people thought my note suggested driving around with your turret rotating 360-degrees 24-7.

This reminds me of an amusing occurrence. There was a guy who couldn't turn his turret but was great at pressing 12345. At some point in the battle I managed to pin him up against a wall. It took him several seconds to find the x and z keys, and when he did he turned his turret in the wrong direction. Proves that these players don't choose not to rotate their turrets, but are just clueless . . .

keep on making these generalizations, i'd really like to see how you'll fare in 1vs1 against ballet.

ballet why dont you challenge 3rd onion make another video with it so his noobness can be reveaed, he thinks people like you are clueless. there was a few times i saw his name in battles and not once he was at the top.

thats beacuse many people who call other noob for not turning their turrets turn tgeir turrets for the wrong reasons. also, many people have called me a noob for not turning my turret when there was no reason to do so.

I'm dying to here the explanation for this.

Please elaborate.

when they're moving forwards they turn it left and right while moving and step on a mine in front of them.

when you're moving you should always make sure to llok ahead enough to make sure you won't be stepping on any mines before turning. if you're on a quick hull with slow turret rotation then move zigzag if you want to check for people around corners

sometimes it's better to turn the hull so you don't flip from the combined power of your recoil and a railgun's impact. There are noobs who turn their turret instead of hull even when they already see the railgun charging up.

sometimes you are already going to be knocked such that your turret will be angled closer to where you want to point it too,  but they turn their turret and get knocked further off so they have to spend more time turning back.

That is an extreme case indeed! lol

No that is not a generalization. That is an anecdote about one specific player. Players like the one described are clueless.

To avoid mines don't turn your turret?

Drive zig-zag to see around corners?

What?

Even better than I hoped for.

Last point is a... complete mystery.  I give up.

yeah, you look right in front of you before you drive onto it. you dont look left while driving forwards... when was the last time you stepped on a mine? i cant even remember my last time, probably a few months ago...

also, because tanks are rectangular, when an enemy is about to shoot your corner from the side, if you only turn your turret he'll hit your corner and knock off your aim. if you turn your hull you'll dodge his shot. and even if he still hits you're not gonna get flipped in that position.

More strawman arguments. This is getting quite tedious. A strawman occurs when someone mis-states the other person's comment then proceeds to disprove the mis-statement. It is annoying. In a formal debate, you would lose points every single time.

When someone says you should be able to rotate your turret, that is not saying "Do not ever steer your hull"

Look, go ahead and play while never once turning your turret.  We do  not care. Why you are obsessed with the idea rotating a turret is somehow bad is a complete mystery. Most players understand one should use every tool available to the player.

PS: I do not believe for one minute you have never hit a mine in months, now that overdrives leave them all over the map.  Or conversely, if you are so paranoid about hitting the occasional mine you must be moving so cautiously you have missed many many scoring opportunites.  Or perhaps you are a camper who sits in one spot all game.

Did you just say you dodge shots by turning your hull?  Not avoiding bad impact - but actually dodging shots?

In your mammoth? (where you spend 90% of your battle-time).

Interesting.   B)

His main combo is Mammoth Shaft.

which is the map where people plant the most mines around their flag? highways. and look, i captured a flag, the only flag that got captured. score is more than 100 points than kills multiplied by 10. also i had the highest difference between score and kills and i didn't use isida, so i captured the flag.

you know, just because you can't do certain things with shaft mammoth doesn't mean its not possible.

ThkAmllqfHM.jpg

Yes, i camp most of the time. but when i see all enemies not paying attention i go get the flag. enemies might not be facing where i'm coming from but their mines don't turn away. this is what you have to do if you don't want to step on them.

does it even matter what turret or hull you use? if they don't see you they don't see you, just go in, take it, and go out. of course it won't work if you step on the damn mines.

Mammoth or wasp - you didn't respond to part about actually dodging shots - by turning your hull.  You talking twins from extreme distance?

I can imagine the soundtrack for this is "The Twist" by Chubby Checker.

depends on who is shooting at me; if it's striker i can do it with mammoth. if it's railgun i do it with wasp or hornet.

and i hope my other post answered your question. how did they turn their turret wrongly? when they turn it when there's no one around the corner because all enemy base guards are distracted so they step on mines and die as a result of not looking in front of them.

You are coming up with what we call "one-offs" for examples of why you don't need to turn your turret. I already mentioned we were not advocating driving around with your turret constantly rotating 360-degrees. That would be silly.

The point is if you are fighting someone who knows how to fight while turning the turret and you can't, you are at a tactical disadvantage.

i understood you the first time you clarified that; i'm simply answering your question: how do they turn their turret for the wrong reasons.

and it's not that "one off"... any idea how many people i killed with mines? I'd say at least 90% of the mines i dropped in normal battles get stepped onto. all i do back up sliding along the wall when they're coming along a corner... those stupid people continue moving to my  right side with their turret pointing at me... and they step on it and die. if they don't die they'll be blown up sideways so i charge at them and flip them. and if they happen to release a shot right when the mine lifts them up their own recoil will also help them flip.

as you can see it was because they turned their turret they stepped onto the mine and it was also because they turned it they were in a good position to be blown up sideways and get flipped by me/themelves.

I do not consider myself to be an amazing player, just a decent player. I lose regularly to people who can't turn their turrets, because Magnum is balanced and so are drugs. This does not mean those people know much about game mechanics. They will make mistakes, do stupid things, but it doesn't matter because they have better equipment than me. It takes 4-5 shots for a drugged Rico to destroy my Viking. It takes 7-8 shots to destroy said Rico with my Smoky. Smoky has 4x the reload of Rico. Even a Rico without drugs will out play Smoky in anything but mid-long range engagements most of the time. I have Rico M2 on an alt. It's much easier playing with it than with Smoky.

Mid-long range?  With the MFS alteration my money is on Ricco.

I have Smoky M3-14/20 and Ricco M3-14/20.  Between those two I use Ricco 75% & Smoky 25%.

At the high ranks smoky has limited applications.  They have nerfed it too much.

It's only advantage is that there seem to be fewer people equipping modules with smoky.

Rico has the edge but as you say the module often gives my a boost. Anti-Rico is part of my #1 module.  Then it's a matter of can I break his aim with impact . Closer is often easier to get him to miss.

Rico’s impact force is great i 1v1 one rico during a battle with my twins its really easy for him to hit me off target while i can only do some damage on him like maybe almost kill him??!?? Idk

If we leave the spreadness of protections out of our discussion, i'd say Rico M3 with MFS definitely outperforms Smoky M4.

That explains why i use Clay almost all the time.
