I’m back, having abandoned this thread after I reached Brigadier and had to switch from Rico M2 to Hammer M3 via Jackhammer kit. To put this in real calendar terms, think the first small Assault Mode holiday map.

Rico M3/M4 was largely useless for quite some time. Then Striker and Magnum came into play. Guess what. Players scrambled for Magnum protection and all the LGC Clay modules got shelved. 50% protection against Rico dropped from 60-70% of players to 10-30%. Mostly due to that one module which has both Magnum and Rico protection.

So Magnum’s gain is also Rico’s gain.

Furthermore, I expect the situation to improve for Rico users following the dynamic module update. When that happens, pretty much the entire player base will be equipping a protection module with Magnum, Thunder, and (Isida or Twins) protection. Rico and the other obscure turrets will be free to inflict their full damage potential on most players you’ll meet.

Unstable plasma - map specific benefit, which is a bad thing with MM. I found that performance was better without this alteration due to exploiting the bounce.

Rio - the redesigned Rio favors Ricochet on the Red team. The blue base has squared walls so Rico can bounce for spawn kills. Red base has angled walls. So Rico on Blue team can’t use the same tactic. Not well thought out by designers.

Bought 2 alterations for the rico, one increases speed and reload time, the other adds splash damage and removes ricochet effect.

I've noticed the first alteration has NOT increased the projectile speed at all, but does improve reload time.  I know this because when fighting other rico's my shooting speed is not as fast as the enemy.  WHY???

My tank is an M4 Rico, 20/20 fully upgraded.

Do the projectiles travel further, or what?

The projectiles travel faster and *much* further, ricochet becomes a medium-long range turret.

I know that, I was asking him if his projectiles was traveling further since he said that they werent going any faster.

In which case it might be a bug.

Please read the post I was quoting carefully next time before reply to mine.

The MFS , M1 alt increses the reload by 20%

So you reload slower than a standard Rico user

But your projectiles travel faster and so your Rico Gains the range similar to Thunder /Smoky

I added those emojis in his post , that is how i felt after reading his post

You mean it SHOULD travel faster, they don't.  I know this because the speed of the projectiles is SLOWER when compared to another enemy rico.  The DISTANCE is farther, but I wasn't complaining about distance.  It was the SPEED of the projectile.

Are you sure it is equipped?

Plus it does not "improve" (Typo?) the re-load time - it makes it worse (longer).

Try equipping just the MFS alteration and observe the results.

can anyone tell me what is the best kit with rico m3 with viking m3 or should i go for hunter m3 insted of viking?

Viking =more speed , hunter = stability

I will go for stability , cause it has limited ammo , so every shot counts

But since you are a rico Speed also comes in handy

It is your choice

Redneck kit is , hunter +rico i think

I bought Redneck (Hunter, Rico, Lumberjack), prior to the introduction of modules. It’s good but maybe wait until after the next module update.

On the smaller boards you will like the Titan with the Rico. The extra health on smaller boards is nice. On larger ones the speed of the viking (along with a little drift) make it a good all-arounder for CTF, CP, and TDM

Honestly, I would have said yes a month ago. Hunter’s stability makes for an excellent platform for Ricochet.

The problem is Hunter got picked for the mobile platform, so it’s steering and anti-inertial specs are wildly out of whack now. It feels like driving a tank - in a bad way. It actually handles like a heavy hulk now. Simply put, it’s no longer responsive or nimble enough for Rico. Stick with Viking. Viking with Rico is damn fun. Like lobbing pies off a bobsled. You won’t always hit what you aim for, but you’ll have a great time trying.

Is Ricochet M2 alteration worth it?

Unstable Plasma? In my opinion, no. The bounce effect is much more useful than a tiny bit of splash damage. I bought it, tried it for a battle or two and never equipped it again.
