Perhaps, but Twins has longer range, and infinite ammo. I fail to see the advantage of Ricochet anymore.

Only a Rico guy would know

We know how to Bounce our shots

Can Twins do that  B)

They supposedly nerfed Rico. Guys they have turned it into a super-killer! You lost a little damage ability but now you get 20 shots! Always before you go into a melee battle with 12 or 14 shots and you run out of shot! Now you don't - you have 20 shots. With my M4 now I am slaughtering!

I tend to agree. I thought this was a nerf too, and yes I do notice the distance/damage reduction, but having more ammo in the clip significantly compensates for this. Having Rico ‘run dry’ at the worst possible time annoyed me so much that I gave up on using it at high ranks, but Rico can now actually kill more than 0-1 enemy per spawn in Legend battles. And since I do most of my fighting at closer ranges anyway (i.e. MM maps), Rico may finally be usable at M3/4.

They've changed the way we use it - and - I'm not sure I'm a fan.

I used to be able spam 12-14 shots from one side of Serpuhov to the other at camping shafts, and make them miss me as they tried to scope.

Can't do that anymore. The balls seem to fizz out at extreme range.  Does it even have "weak" damage?  WIKI says so but...

I also had quit using it as much since any protection of 40+ coupled with an m4 medium or heavy hull equaled ALMOST killing and then running out of energy. Not a good situation I discovered. I will begin using it again and seeing what it does with the new "nerf." I agree that the long range loss will be a game changer for the turret, but in reality it was never meant to be a long range weapon:)

Maybe that was original plan but...

They sell us Alterations for extra crystals to do just that.

From the WIKI for MFS.... "Long range settings for keeping a safe distance between you and your enemy"

It literally says long range.

Hmm i am a Rico guy

and have m3 rico {m2 10/10}

I am liking the new update

Why ?

the shots increase are a good thing

more shots = more kills= good score

and it helps when facing Protections

before we had to watch our clip go empty aganist a guy with 25%+ protcetion most time

The range thing is that i did not like it cause Twins and Rico are brother's and was more equall bros

But now It have the upper hand

The only thing we have now is that Rico effect

But i played some battles and i did not feel that the Range nerf much

{may because of my playstyle  I like to Kill from behind by stealth mode }

Solid tactic - if you can swing it.

For some the change is a buff.  Because of my play-style, for me it's a nerf.

Not like twins.

I meant longer ranges - I always equip the MFS alteration and engage enemies at longer distance.

I could do a lot of damage to twins before they were within their range.  Now, not so much...

Reading all this seems like Rico is still a good choice to buy? I'm considering to buy it at a good sale,

Think Twins with less slightly less DPS but bounce-ability.

I still recommend the MFS alteration as well so you get at least medium range.  The slower reload time is not noticeable with the larger initial energy pool.

Not to mention that the speed of shots is so much faster that it makes aiming very easy with the Rico. I find that without the MFS I have to "lead" the target and hope they don't change direction :wacko:

I think it is much better now than it was before the change. A buy decision for Rico kinda depends on where you are in the game. My advice is to make Rico the fourth or fifth turret you buy. Fire, Free, and Twins are probably better choices for MM battles, but if you’ve got those, Rico is a strong contender for your next turret.

You may have another acct, but I noticed you rarely play with Fire or Free...

Shots are way too slow without MFS.  And with more ammo in the pipe, I see no reason to use stock.  There is no downside to the MFS.

hmm maybe

Shots are way too slow without MFS.

it is easily managable if you know to swing the shots

Rico is Twin's brother , so it does not mean it is to be used that way

And with more ammo in the pipe, I see no reason to use stock.  There is no downside to the MFS.

The Downside is that it increase the reload speed

Which is why i don't use it

I am no Rico user but I think that's easier said than done. The slow projectile speed is just another quirk you need to get over. No matter how good your aim is, it'll be in the way and cause misses here and there; not practical at longer range.

The recent update nerfed Riccos range but - added way more shots.  You don't need to worry about reload speed. By the time you run out of ammo you are dead or your opponent is dead.  I have yet to run out of ammo with MFS alt equipped.

Hmm

no i feels it is easy { but yes i agree not all can do it}

Xd man I play the game and come to the forum i am always updated no need for a lecture for the new patch  :rolleyes:

Yes i need to worry about my reload speed

Cause since the new re-balance series hit the shorties are more in number's and to be able to put them down in most MM maps Since i am a rico a user the reload help's me not the range { as i said earlier i like close range encounter's more and most map's and most time it is close ragne fights for the turret's unless they are camping }

And the less energy consumption end's as more shot's and it is a buff and it help's when facing Protection's a lot { before Rico sufferd when facing protection's of 25% + }

I love the new update on the rico.  It doesn't shoot as far, but those more shots per clip are the game changer.  I'm glad they changed it for the better...I felt like I had  wasted my 90K crystals on the m2 before the balance.

Now that I use it more often, I'm wondering if the alteration that makes the bullets do "splash damage" instead of "ricochet" would be worth it?  :unsure:   Have any of you's tried this alteration?  How do you like?  I think it will go on sale for halloween.

I have mine at m2 10/10 it is totally worth it and the more shot's is  :wub:  , now you don't have to worry about running out of shot's often

Hmm

no  it's not worth the value , the rico effect is much better , the only place i would use this alt will be in Polygon CP  :ph34r:
