I'm Wondering what the future of Rico protection is. Players who bough Clay are still prowling around Gismo battles. But eventually this will turn over into module buyers and those legacy Clay protections will become rare. This is good news for us Rico lovers.

The question is how many players will buy M3 modules with Rico protection? Depends I think on what else is in there, since Rico is not super common the way Twins, Isida, and Rail are. What do you think?

Depends. My prediction is there would be a rise in 'Lion'paints to combat Rico threat. Since Rico is highly annoying, people would continue to get protection. Although they would be lesser than Clay. But it depends on map...

PrincessSeraphina i had a question. Should i buy smoky m3 or rico m3. Not sure which pls reply soon

thx

Huh? You already have Smoky M3...

Thank you.

After I asked, I looked to see what modules are out there with Rico protection. Lion jumped out at me, one of which includes Thunder and Rail. After seeing the multitude of modules available, I expect nothing will change.

Good teams have already figured out (even before modules change) that a successful win requires more than just drugging. You need two or three players with 30-50% protection against whatever the opposing team brings to the battle. For a team of 8, who work well together, it's pretty easy now with modules to dominate using a clever protection distribution.

Didn't finish that thought. What I mean is a few tanks wear strong protection against one set of turrets. A few others wear strong protection against another set of turrets. The bottom line is that in a Poly CP game, you've usually got coverage at the point against whatever weapon comes at you.

I am wondering if I should save up for the Mammoth/Vulcan kit or put some *expensive* MUs in Rico - any thoughts? How far would 300 - 400k get me?

Kits are a rip-off currently; don't buy them.

And why would you want Fatty M3 when you already have Titan M3?

Good point - maybe I'll just wait until Tankman's Day rolls around, hopefully a decent MU sale. But I am still interested in fatty M3 :P

Dude, you cannot fool me with the ratings system. You already played 170 hours with it. Do you need milk with your coffee, sir? Some tea latte?

If you never brought Rico nor use it, how do you know you "didn't really like it" ?

Did you see his rating profile? Also he's more inclined towards the XP format... I think polygon CP XP/BP.

then should i save for rockclimber or guardian??

Since you have Viking M3 and Twins M3, Rockclimber would probably work best. IMO Twins+Titan is much better than Titan+Smoky, and then Ricochet goes well with Viking (you then have a great defensive combo that can is amazing on Polygon CP and small maps like Arena and Island, AND you have a very versatile midfielding combo, as Ricochet+Viking goes well on almost all maps in any game mode). Stock Ricochet M3 is much better than stock Smoky M3 too (not to mention that Ricochet is really fun to use. Also with the paint update Nano is crazy expensive, while Rock is dirt cheap, so the price difference in kits will be 100k-150k :P.

Rock climber, the thing about stock Rico M3 is it runs out of ammo quickly (at least for me). I don't regret getting Rock climber for my alt - at all. I enjoy being called a buyer :P.

Rico is extremely annoying. I don't know if it is a glitch, but I have been destroyed by Ricochets who have shot into empty space, missed me, but somehow the shot does damage.

Epic :P

And nah, I rarely check ratings or profiles. I mostly do forum stuff on my phone and just can't be bothered.

Welcome to Lag.

It is not specific to Rico. You will also see Isida beams stretching through walls and buildings. Same with Railgun shots. Pretty much every turret has its version of "hey, I'm not where you think I am!"

Lots of players get frustrated by this. Me too. Occasionally staff and I think moderators tell us it is being worked on, but I don't know that there is an end in sight.

Interesting that Rico protection isn't too common, but when you do wear protection against it the % is really high. Most of the times it's 30% +.

And am just curious? Does anybody use the "bash" tactic with Rico? Where you slam into the tank and temporarily disorient them? It seems to work quite well against Hammers and Isidas, two very annoying turrets.

Sorry if i hurt your feelings my lady.

Yeah, I bash all the time with Rico.

And I have noticed the high Rico protections. This will only get worse as modules become mainstream (hint: after the next sale). Actually that will happen with every turret, since the minimum M3 protection will be 35%.

I'm not really looking forward to that. I suspect games will become an endless cycle of swapping out turrets and modules. "Player x has changed equipment" will become more common a message than "player x destroyed player y" :/

Yep - some turrets will be no doubt dead once people begin using the protection modules. In fact, now Rico protection is becoming common - every match there's at least 3 people protecting against this turret. And the worst part is they're all above 30! Primarily due to Dragon, Spark, and Desert.

I'd hate to say it, but I predict if people keep buying Rico protection paints at the rate I'm seeing them, this turret will be dead. Fast.

If so, that might well be the end of me. Sure I have other turrets, but Rico is my first love. Tanki without a use for Rico just won't be worth playing.

I'm not so sure it will come to that though. I still see battles where players are less equipped to deal with Rico.

Ofc I know that, but still, there's a possibility that you brought it before you asked the question.

(Why did you brought it before a sale? )

I doubt people would change much unless they are in Arena or Island or they are part of a Raid squad. There always people without Rico protections.

The only problem is Rico can't be a reliable "finisher", so I would swap out Rico in the last 5 mins of a Polygon CP to win if I see my team is not capturing the point for some reason.

Why do you think that? Because it can run dry when you need it the most?

It cannot deal with multiple rushing enemies to the point even with M4.
