I should ad I am talking about Rico at the Warrant officer level. Things might be different at M3 but players form their opinions of the game much earlier than the M3 stage. So I think these complaints have merit.

Freeze is a PITA too but they also have their weaknesses such that you do not see 15%-20% of the battle using freeze guns.

Thanks for the thoughtful back and forth. I needed to vent. Cuz yuo were right arought getting knockedaround.:)

No worries. You won't find Rico's nearly as much of a problem north of Brigadier. But be ready for Isida to become a MAJOR problem. Instead of getting pummeled you'll get sucked dry left and right.

^^

This..

The weakest turret of the game. Useful? Yesç Works great its respected place? Yes.

However, it is too easily countered and too easily disabled. Just a paint or heal drug totally breaks the game. After a certain amount of player, the weapon reaches its damage limit and gets owerehelmed by twins, smoky, thunder, vulcan... Definitely the worst turet for drug battles.

The weapons I mentioned continously shoots, so have no problem at drug battles. Firebird has afterburn, spread shoot and higher DPS. Freeze shoots relatively hightime for higher DPS, with "freeze" effect. Hammer loses only 4 seconds, while ricochet loses about 10 seconds. shaft and railgun also has drug problems, but at least they can one-shot kill or kill-steal; and they higher instant damage.

Places to use ricochet's ability is not many.

God, my 3000 crystals of worth Dragon legacy module allows me kill M4 ricochets at polygon. :D

I wish I had Ricochet M3, I would really use it. But I cannot spend my crystals on that current situation of the game, especially I can make twins-paint combinations or smoky-paint combinations; or even shaft-paint combinations.

I only suggest this weapon to someone has special interest to this weapon.

Like me :D

My Rico M4 is great but does often fall to the enemy repair kit or paint and instant damage of other turrets is a real problem at high ranks.

Advantages- please add that the auto-aim gets a HUGE improvement when you bounce. You can hit almost anything, but the door swings both ways and the weapon seems to 'look' for a way to smack you back in the face.

My favourite autoaim issue is, that moment when you kill someone, and your next shot without autoaim goes in different angle and ends up in your face.. :D

I've had that happen many times, primarily when I was facing Smoky. The impact force makes me miss a few shots and they go off in a different direction and end up coming back to me.

I think for Rico users the best servers to be in are the drug free ones and the EN servers. I've played a few Gissimo matches and sometimes my equipment is better MUd than a Generalissimo.

Another one, when you are about to kill an enemy, but another enemy tank comes in line (vertically) with him, and your autoaim chooses to switch target, fire at the other one, instead of finishing off the one you were shooting at.

I made a graph to show how the damage profile evolves with upgrade.

Bottom one with Twins as reference.

If your initial damage spike is swallowed by a healing kit, you are pretty much trash, especially with M3+

I second this, even with M4 Rico, it's not easy to get first place. Maybe I should be getting that Module with Twins/Smoky/Isida.

My main difficulty is more of enemy hammers & smoky tho..

Don't play with Rico to get first place. Play with Rico to have fun.

Rocking your hull can help with that

Every turret has its own disadvantage. Rico's is the limited ammunition and the time it takes for the projectile to hit the tank. Range can be a disadvantage too, but most of the time people are well in Rico's range of effectiveness. Imo, Rico M1, M2, and M3 need a buff. It's just not competitive enough to stay with the other M3s. Which is funny since its price is relatively high. Maybe higher damage per shot? Because anyone with 20 + protection is impossible to kill. And as ballet_magnet said, it's DPS is only at an all time high for about 4 - 6 seconds. Sure it's higher than most turrets' DPS, but in the long run, turrets with infinite ammunition rule the battle field (Vulcan, Smoky, and Twins primarily). Most of the time in Gissimo battles I rarely see a Rico M3 anyway. Clay modules still prowl in the battles.. not even allowing Rico users a chance to fight back. Especially if they're Twins, Smoky, and Isida.

@LittleWillie maybe M1 Rico is a pain for you right now, M2 will be for a little bit, but once you're past Colonel you'll realize Rico is drastically underpowered. Especially with no MUs.

Thanks for taking the time to answer NewbieCake. That's reassuring for the long run - but - how many players do not stick around for the long run bcause they form their opinions in the many long hours befor reaching that endgame situation? Wjhat I am trying to say is, balance at the M0-M2 stages is imporant too.

WEll today as I type this I'll take that trade. With Isida I can shoot back and maneuver I might lose but I might win. When a Rico gets closehe's gonna kill me long before I land the 5-6 shots needed to kill him. Of course many time I can't even draw a bead on him .... THAT's what rubs salt in the wound.

True, but once you're back from the wtf-effect you already wasted few shots while both of them fire at you.

About rocking hull I just discovered a new technic to extend the upward angle of the shot, the second shot. You do the normal rocking back and forward, but you fire 2 shots without delay while moving forward continously. This way the first shot will lift up the front of the hull even more, the second shot will reach even higher. At least it's new for me, I will try to build it in my gameplay. :)

I agree that Rico is a pain to face on M2. But the easiest way is to get some protection against it. 20 + protection should do it. But soon you'll face M2 Fires, Smokies, and Twins. Which are even worse to face assuming you don't know how to face them. :P

I see you're a Smoky/Viking player.. well get the Northerner kit and you'll be a bigger pain in the rear than anyone with M2 Rico. Especially since you have previous experience with it.

My friend, you might want to watch some video on what M3+ Isida can do. I promise you that Isida M0-M2 are kittens compared to that beast.

I keep hearing Smoky get better relative to the other weapons as you go up the ladder so I am encouraged by what you say. Part of my perception is possibly due to the way some higher level options become available at much lower ranks than other options. The advantages rotate as you go up ranks.

Thc for pointing my to the Northerner kit. I did not know about it and that will save me maybe 20k C.

I do not doubt you for a minute. My only point was an emotional one. The Isida might kill me but he cannot knock off my aim and I will pump as many shells into his hull as fast as the crew can load 'em. ;)

Yep, Smoky is so good once you get it M2... it's better than some M3s (which says something).. once you get it M3, again like M2, it's very, very good. Once you get it M4.. it's a god's weapon. :P

Anyways, once you get Northerner, your next kit you should get should be Paladin. Smoky M3 at Lieutenant General (3 star looking rank) is excellent.. then you can save for MUs.. and with a wise budget, you can have them M4 before Generalissimo ;)

True, but the M3+ Isida can self heal fast enough so that by the time most turrets can do damage, they just can't do enough.

Sounds like good news for me. :) I am glad I genuinely prefer Smokey-style combat.

Well, I do have something to tell about this weapon.

Ricochet is an excellent gun with bouncing balls.

I have till now Rico M0.

It has done a great job when I am playing Madness.

(here I meant that when I am going down from one level to another, it helps me keep upright and not self-destruct)

Thanking you,

With kindest regards,
