Anyone tried the Alt with splash damage yet? Is it worth it?

I did the rental and played on boards with limited walls. I was not terribly impressed with it. I only used it for a day and 4-5 battles however. If I am wanting splash damage I go with thunder. 

 

The other alteration is amazing however. It is a great versatile turret with it!

Is rico viking M3/M4 still good??

Yes rico is very good at close range.

 

There's also an unwritten rule that ricochets don't attack each other during DM, so that gives you an advantage I suppose.

Redneck. Because of the new balance changes, Hunter now has better mobility and weight, meaning more balance (easier to aim and not get your shot knocked off). The module is a great choice for small maps too. If you don't like Hunter though, get Maestro. Dictator's height and agility (despite it's size) works well with Ricohet, and it also has a decent weight. The module is great too, perfect for large maps.

Really? I always play on the Russian servers and nine times out of ten a fellow ricochet won't shoot me even if it's stronger.

I usually don't get targeted by other Ricochets either, but that's probably because I have M4+range alteration+Nano LGC :P.

In my experience it's not so much a rule, instead it's just smarter for the Ricochet to attack a different enemy. But you never know.

Always annoying to face another rico,winning depends on who misses a shot first

 

Btw,anyone else finding it hard to aim at stuff above u whn using dicator?

I find the opposite to be true actually. The height of Dictator makes it easier to hit things a level above you.

With Unstable Plasma {Area damage} alteration.

NS battle.Opposing team had 4 twins,2 twins titans.Quite a battle

Area dmg alt is quite good in poly CP,playstlyle is like a thunder,with higher DPS 

and u can actually live without the ricocheting effect in da map

EDIT: I have 50k crystals and i was wondering if range alt is good for poly cp.thoughts?

Rico is just so strong...why is it so unpopular?

You run out of the ammo quickly.

In higher ranks a ricochet can easily run out of charge against heavy hulls.

It takes long to reload.

 

Plus when I used ricochet, I found it is hard to aim at enemy.

When a firebird/freeze/isida approaches, I used to kinda get nervous and spray the first few shots around before finally shooting at them.

 

It is still used in higher ranks because more people go for rail thunder smoky protection than rico.

That't true but a Rico can finish off a heavy hull in at close distance rather fast and then it can try to hide for a few seconds and then move on to the next target. After the devs buffed it there were many Ricos in Poly on the RU servers in both DM and CP but here on the EN servers I barely see any protection against it and people still prefer other turrets.

In smaller maps this shouldn't be an issue but in larger maps the alteration is a good solution, especially because DPS is less important there.

The range alteration is very good, but I would not recommend it for Polygon CP. If you are using Ricochet with Unstable Plasma, your job is to pressure on the point, using the splash damage to your advantage. It's almost the same role of a Thunder, except no camping (so you don't need that much range).

The thing is, that i love rikt ^_^  i use it and its m1 9/10 upgraded  B) the last upgrade completes on saturday

i use this gun from when i started playing tanki

all guns have good abilites but rikt bouncing ability is yuck <_<  

the best thing to do is to buy m2 alternation which is splash damage

 

Rikt is powerful against 

Rail (best advantage)

Vulcan (if near)

Firebird (if far)

Freeze (if in front)

Madnum (if near)

Thunder(near or far dose't matter  <_< )

Smoky (will get killed no matter what)

 

Its weak against

Firebird (if near)

Twins (u will lose balance)

Freeze (if behind)

Shaft (will kill u every time)

Rail(if far away)

 

you can be pro using rikt but i don't like bouncing ability   ^_^

The range alteration is very good, but I would not recommend it for Polygon CP. If you are using Ricochet with Unstable Plasma, your job is to pressure on the point, using the splash damage to your advantage. It's almost the same role of a Thunder, except no camping (so you don't need that much range).

i would say u buy the firsst alternation too. the projectile speed will be so fast that the enemy can't escape. :ph34r:

I agree! It is an amazing turret with the speed. Aiming is much easier and more precise with it. I am not a big fan of the splash damage alteration, however. I rented it twice and have decided to enjoy the bouncing balls of death;)
