Yeah, use your Smoky M1. It's definitely one of the cheaper M1s but requires a lot of MUs to stay competent. Always get the first few steps in each stat, as they offer the most bonus.  Critical hit damage and critical hit chance if you want to rely on crit damage, impact force is good for knocking off other's aim, damage is good for regular damage, and IMO turret rotation is the least important but can help against freezes.

I have the feeling Smoky is freaking op now. The regular shots are pretty good , criticals fly around , and on top of that it makes you fly when it hits you. A week ago there was a hacker under the map , he was shooting at us. Flipped some guys , even heavy vikings.

If the wiki is correct, the highest you can MU a M2 Smoky's critical damage is 98.2.

Thanks man :)...idk if ill continue the other 11 MU's on crit damage for just 3.2 damage...

With critical shot added no, and without critical shot yes, however a fully upgraded smoky m3 can score multiple critical hits as well as damage, a fully upgraded thunder m3 is at disadvantage to the hull in terms of self damage, and smokys critical hat so its hard to say

I happen to have both turrents M4, both have their pro's and con's, but other then Thunder no weapon will be able to wreak havoc on the entire enemy team. Self damage is not an issue for me.

 

Thunder to me is more consistent, with Smoky crits come often when you don't need them and when you do need them they fail to appear.

 

I have just few specific reasons to choose Smoky over thunder, but 90% of the cases the choice is Thunder (that is whenever I have to choose between these two turrents)...

It's the range that makes a difference though... No Smoky would beat a Thunder from a long distance.

And no Thunder would beat a Smoky in open mid-field... excluding factors as hulls and paints.

Kind of disagree, i can beat thunder with smoky from long distances

Somewhat - you can whittle a Thunder's HP down for an eventual death if you use your impact force to the extent they can't land a hit on you - and yes, that does work from far.
