Guys, how to distinguish between a regular and a critical shot?

Regular shot makes sth like blast (cloud) of orange fire while critical makes sth like electric shock on enemy, is that right?

With doble damage, critical power also doubles?

This is what a critical hit looks like:

If it's just a regular shot, you will only see the little yellow splash without the lightning bolt.

When you have a double damage equipped, the critical damage of your Smoky will be doubled also.

I use m1 smoky with m1 titan....i find it very useful in midfield (i play Rio CTF)....In DMs, I can get a high D/L ratio,, more than 1.5... so i'm gonna save crystals n i'm also planning to get both m2

I like it. I want to get it though the Huntsman kit. Is that a good idea?

If you like Hornet and plan to use it for a long time (like with Railgun) then it's a good idea.

Thats because you don't know what m1 is like

I find that I still use my M2 Smoky a lot despite owning M3 Thunder, mostly because Thunder paints are really common these days. Kits like Medic, Raiden, and Cardinal haven't helped with the problem. Thunder is more useful in a Polygon CP if there aren't many protection paints around, due to its splash damage, but if not, Smoky rarely lets me down. I can't wait for M3 Smoky.

I have got smoky m2 and nothing else for all time as you could  see my profile and it was enough for me. Ofcourse some times may be difficult use this weapon, any way  I am  going  to play with it till the end.

Topic's name is incorrect.

Correct spellings aren't "Smoky", these are "Smokey"!

The game calls it Smoky. Besides, "Smoky" is the proper spelling for everyday use, meaning "filled with smoke". "Smokey" is a name and is generally not correlated with smoke.

Smoky is op, is high firing rate and critical hits allow it do massive damage comparable to firebird and freeze, but it can fire infinitely, combined with good range and high impact force. A disadvantage maybe the inability to attack multiple tanks at a time unlike thunder.

Smokey is great if you have good accuracy but my aim is awful railgun is better. I know what your saying that your accuracy has to be better with railgun but the thing with railgun is that the shots to kill are very low 2-3 shots for most hulls as with smokey the shots to kill are very high meaning you need to have constant good aim something I don't have also I think railgun has a stronger lock on but anyways if you have amazing aim Smokey is meant for you.

smoky is overrated. u cant see if u hit anything, the normal damage is low, critical hit is rare.. u know who likes smoky? the guys who steal yah kill..

it performs terrible in DM (duh...) and gets u measly points in team battles. i dont know about the m3 tho, but with other m3 turrets,it obviously cant handle the competition

What's up with all these only Smoky Hunters? Although it is the default tank, I have seen way more people who only use this combination than every other combination combined. (Yes, I am aware you must have Smoky and Hunter by default and will probably use it for the first few ranks.)

My Viking is m3 with 50/50 mu

My smoky is m3 with 50/50 mu

My protection is fully upgraded

Sometimes twins can kill me because I don't have twins protection, sometimes maybe even a lucky rail shot. Other than that:

Don't come around me unless you like death.

Do you keep the spacebar down when confronting twins? I want to use Smoky, but it seems like a slow killer when I use it and a fast killer when someone uses it against me. Grateful for any tips.

You're amusingly ignorant.

Except that smoky is a great kill-stealer.

Hey, get Lord-of-the-Snipers to give some tips. He uses smoky almost exclusively, it seems, and his kill/death is insane with it (up around where yours is, actually.) I play a very aggressive smoky style, with mediocre drug-use, so although I'm a top scorer with the screenshots to prove it, I die a fair bit and have a low-ish kill/death.

My two top tips:

1 Get your aim to where you can hit 90% of your shots, even while moving (and turning your turret, obviously.) Every smoky shot counts.

2 Move constantly. Become a dogfighter. Closing, retreating, circling then doubling back as they turn, in and out of cover, moving unexpectedly. Shooting the whole time. Your hull should almost never stand still, and nor should your turret. So many people play with uninspired tactics. Smoky is maybe the turret that benefits most from inspired tactics.

And be an opportunist. So many times I've taken a potshot at someone in passing, a short-window-of-opportunity/high-skill-shot, knowing I didn't have the time to devote to killing him--and that was the killing shot. Also smoky is awesome for putting a little damage on everyone you see or pass, and gaining a share of xp when your teammates kill him. With the rate of fire there's no opportunity cost to doing that.

Deathmatches are awesome crucibles for honing your dogfighting skills and aim, and for sucking until you do.

Smoky benefits from some micro-upgrading.

I feel like you used to do a lot of railgun. I played against you once or twice in Alexandrovsk, where your style was camping/peek-a-boo. I don't think smoky is a good peek-a-boo camper, FYI. You lose out on the very important rate-of-fire. (I notice that at the moment you have isida equipped. My second favorite turret--use it on my second-highest account--this is my highest and it's smoky/hunter only. Smoky rules.)

Good luck.

What on earth are you talking about? Smoky is OP if anything - no one sees where you are, it's a very fast shooting turret, and is probably the most versatile turret in Tanki (next to Isida). I've heard that it's probably the best M4 turret in Tanki too - I wouldn't be surprised.

Smoky is quite the destructive .

Based on the looks, looks like I'll get M3 again on my alt, I miss using it. But probably won't happen until New Years, unless I get a PD. But that is highly unlikely.
