Nerfed or not, I'll still go for the Paladin kit. I still love Smoky. I guess the nerf will just force me to either get better or die a lot.

I bought ant kit before the rebalance and I have been playing for like 4 years. I would never give away a account that was marshal no matter how bad the equipment was.

My equipment was awesome but i got sad that they nerfed rail so i gave it away to a friend. :D

Well I still think smoky is strong from what I've seen. The tanks that I fear the most are titan/smoky, titan/shaft and viking/hammer (with supplies).

How effective is smoky at middle ranks? with that insane m2 unlock rank, If I were to get M1, is it still going to be competitive after I rank a few times?

Pretty effective. You're going to have to MU it, to go that long distance. Just give it a handful of MUs every time there is a sale on them. I now have mine up to 46/50, and that's enough. Getting good with the smoky, that's a different matter. If you put in the work to get good, the smoky rules. No question.

just saying, but there is always that smoky/titan user who dominates.  I'd have to say that smoky/titan is a beast combo and wreck the competition in the right hands :wub:  B)  :wub:

It's great on small-medium maps. can take a lot of punishment.

 

If you also like larger maps you will need to buy a light or medium hull to go with it. Titan at M2 is kind of slow.  You will find a lot of tankers beating you to drop-boxes like RK and DD.

idk about slowness, i'm more concerned about health, even on larger maps, but i'll probably change the combo i'm using at m2 levels

Has anyone else become bored with smoky? I've been using it for a long time now and it's still pretty good, just boring. Despite being at 20 steps out of 50, it will cost me another 500,000 crystals to make it M4 which seems outrageous.

 

I switched to ricochet during the new year sales and that is better than smoky at close range, but again I'm bored of it now.

 

Where do I go from here? I'm leaning towards railgun or hammer. I like twins but due to the recent change it now causes self-damage, so it doesn't appear to be a good investment.

I have enjoyed Rico, Smoky, Rail, and Shaft the most. Since the new rebalance the Shaft is my new favorite. Love the arcade shots...but I don't use it on small boards. Just my two cents. I am saving up for M3 Titan/M3 Smoky...but now you have me thinking....

Ya but at the same time, it's a combo for noobs. With the easy-to-control and slow Titan, they can move around with no trouble(hopefully). I know this kid who need two hands for the arrow keys(to control, he doesn't use mouse). It would be easy for him, since he can just stroll around and then just keep shooting with the space bar held.

In a way, yes. Is it easy to control long range with heavy hulls? Yes. How about short range with light hulls with drugs and going to cap flags? Not really.
