Yeah so it's stronger. I didn't move just stood there kept shooting and thunder died and I survived. Smoky deals slightly less damage than thunder, however because of it's reloading it deals double the amount of one thunder bullet.

Because you have thunder protection equipped, or you killed an M0 thunder. Try again without protection and against an M1 thunder. Edited by DieselPlatinum

I didn't have any protection equipped.

If that's the case then you might have just faced an M0 thunder. Try again against m1 thunder. With the same hull modification as yours. Trust me, it won't be as easy.

Actually I tried it in TX. I did it against an XT thunder, but modification and mastery was the same.

If that's the case then something just isn't right in TX. But TX doesn't count, you have to do it in TO.

Well do be honest, a smoky actually has fine dps in my rank. Many times a smoky will snipe me and when I retalitate it knocks off my balance so I cat win in a 1v1. Of course in close range, they go up to my face and use self damage as an advantage as they should do! Im not complaining, Im just saying smoky isnt UP. The dps is pretty good considering it can outrage most dps turrets.

You're right, Smoky is doing fine at lower ranks but once you hit M4 battles it isnt as effective.

mainly because the gap between each modification keeps getting narrower till you reach M4.

Then you were fighting a noob Thunder user.

Due to longer re-load time a Thunder should never just trade shots with smoky unless it's at very long range. Then Smoky does not stand a chance.

Thunder users should be ducking for cover during re-load.  That way they can trade shots one-for-one and smoky loses that battle every time.

Yesss

Thunder is a turret for short encounters and demands a lot of movement.

It may seem weak because people fail to find the correct grounds to use it in... but like the guy said, that's just a thunder noob for you.

A singular thunder can wreak havoc in a way smoky never could, simply because of the reach provided by splash and range, the insane mass-damage and the element of surprise brought about by the before mentioned traits+ the damage/shot.

Simply put thunder may be less powerful face-to-face, but in numerous other situations smoky isn't even competition for it.

As a thunder user, I do not trade rounds with a smoky. I'll avoid it as much as possible. The only exceptions would be from behind if:

·The smoky was using a light hull. (Seldom)

·I was on full drugs while the smoky isn't. (Depending on the situation)

·My equipment level is higher than the smoky user. (Definitely)

·The smoky is wounded badly. (Definitely)

If I don't see any of these signs, I'm going the opposite direction of the smoky, and if a teammate is nearby, I'll let him take one for the team.

The key in my post was "one-for-one" shots.  As Thunder does more damage per shot, it will win. Hence the duck for cover part...

Meh, too lazy, I just let someone else do that for me, while I wreak havoc on that smoky's teammates.

Yes in previous versions of Smoky I used to trade shots un a much wider range of situations. Now with my crit hits gone for the +impact alteration those are now the times I am finding cover and letting team mates slug it out,

I do still shoot at long range to throw off an enemy fighting a team mate. or to try to knock him off a bridge. But I do not trade shots slugging away.

M2 I'd say smoky is stronger.

But M3-M4 I'd lean to Ricco.

However, with heavy hulls and protection it might lean to smoky as Ricco may run out of juice. If Ricco can't kill smoky with 1 magazine advantage to smoky with no recharge.

K den . . . pressing WASD keys is important but is it a skill?

In fact, its the most crucial skill, knowing how to keep your aim while driving is the best way to dodge Ricochet projectiles.

If you just stand stll you will most likely die before shooting twice.

You mean like this thing?

et0OGlw.jpg

In all seriousness, I don't see how this is a skill. It's kind of like saying aiming with Shaft in sniper mode is a skill. It requires quick reactions to be effective, but doesn't really constitute a skill in my opinion.

Then ther is no such thing as skill in playing Tanki, in your concept of the word. I do not share that definition.
