I know what the 1-hitters are there. Tanki wants alot of tanks to blow up because without that that is what drives the Cr pool to grow.  How the DR pool grows is another issue.

Weak stock-M3's but expensive MU's, strong turrets and overpowered supplies that don't last long enough.. all of these factors make up for the game economy as we know today.

All this luring.. and then they mention that the game is too hard for newcomers to handle.

I remember when they took away the ability to MU specific characteristics of your turret or hull.

Why?

"Because it was too complicated"

Then they introduce OverDrive - which in many cases half my teams of LEGENDS don't know how to use.

And they will introduce more OverDrives.

That's gonna work out swell.

I remember I wanted to upgrade the cheapest parameter to the max (I think it might have been impact force for Twins or something similar). I looked at the wiki, saw that it was 5k and decided against it for some reason. Later of course I regretted it, as I could've gotten Twins M1 for just 5k after the MU update!

It's so strange. They can press the 12345 buttons, but their Shift and X and Z keys seem to be broken.

Yup - I upgraded ~ 2 parameters half-way and ended up with a 1.5 at the time.  Others lucked out and got 2.0 for free.

I were on the lucky side because I've always liked specific parameters of a turret. T.O. introduced them with the same phrase.. ''upgrade specific parameters of your hull/turret. I got most of my M4's trough the update but it just goes to show that they have no idea of what they implement into the game.

Anyone have/tried M2 alteration? Worth the crystals?

I bought it but rarely use it. It is 'worth it' though to people who prefer a more peek and shoot style. And foes do not expect Smoky to land >1000 pts hits at long range.  But it will be worth it to one player but a waste of Cry to another.

How do you use your Smoky?

I'm an assistant - I stay close to whoever is carrying enemy flag and try to clean the way so he can cap undisturbed. If the team lacks defenders I'll camp near the flag and try to protect it. My favorite mode is TDM though, when I play it, I stay hidden most of the time and only shoot at damaged tanks, mostly the light ones.

Exactly what I was thinking, I intend to use it just like that.

The way I see it, Smoky works somewhat like Thunder with this alteration, high damage per shot, slow reload, but with the added bonus of critical shots. This is what got me interested. if this alteration turns out to work well in both small and large maps I might buy it. I'm far from getting it though, still have to wait till M2 officially unlocks, despite having M1 fully upgraded.

If you want an allrounder I wouldn't get an alteration in the first place.

Alterations; particularly on Smoky, will limit you to a specific type of gameplay where the turret will excel but for the rest it's pretty underpowered.

I always found Smoky kind of a misfit with the M2 alt. It relies more on knockback than critical damage. The slow reload is a serious con when I face enemies short but even medium distance. Personally I rarely use it; I lean more towards Thunder with that gamestyle.

The M2 alteration makes up a support/assistant kind of gameplay where the player often uses coverage and picks out enemies at greater distances. The critical hit is doing massive damage and the enemies are often suprised. The fact that there's no trace from the Smoky shots means you can deal some serious damage without getting caught. I believe that comes close to what you described so I think the alt will suit you in the end.

Both Smoky alterations are useful depending on how you like to play. I use +impact all the time now. I do not use Railgun so I cannot compare them directly.

At your rank you are getting a fast start so yes.

Unless you are a freak of nature power-leveling grind monkey, it is always worth it to MU any item to 10. Worst-case it costs the same as buying the next level. But you can do it for less.

Rule of thumb: MU steps 1-5 at regular price.. MU steps 6-10 during sales. If you do 6-10 on 30% off sales you will pay about 75% of the purchase price. Throw is some 50% off sales and the deal is even better.

Yes, you can wait to level up and buy the next m-lelve oon a 50% off sale. But you might be waiting months. MU ASAP and you get the benefot during all that time.

Tbh, smoky with higher damage alternator is kind of golden right now. Yes, the gameplay is similar as thunder, BUT lack of protection modules against it makes it better than thunder. I barely see only few people having protections against it, with thunder, every second person has it @ 50%.

It is a great turret at m4 level with alternator.

I was playing Andrevosk (spelling). Both teams were hunkered in on defense. My normal mode of crashing into defenses was wunning into stiff opposition. So I figured I'd load this alteration and hammer the defenses from more distance.  I have to say it was working pretty well. It's nice to two-shot an enemy. I'll have to use this thing more often.

I have been using this thing more often and I gotta say it's pretty darn nice on larger maps. Until a fully drugged Isida/Hornet comes charging at you. Then I miss my +impact. :)

Well botom line is I will be making use of this much more often. I am sold.

Smoky is one of the few turrets with both alterations improving the basic weapon.
