?

The alt does not give you "old smoky" which had better reload.

It gives you a much improved impact at expense of critical.  Useful in some instances but definitely not "old smoky"

Depends who the recruit is. Could be some buyer who buffed the hull and turret up to M1 specs....

Even m0 smoky is good you do not need to be a buyer for that

Remeber to equip Hornet/Wasp

I started playing TO via Kongregate (have 61 hours on that account). Didn't know what I was doing and made lots of mistakes, like not knowing about Overdrive (!) or not making the most of my Beginner's Pass. Also got in to a bad Shaft habit and started caring about my K/D too much (now I enjoy hunting Shafts...) So after ranking up a couple of times with Titan / Smoky M1, I started again.

I stuck with Hunter (and on-map supplies / Overdrive) to see how much faster I could rank up with the default Smoky / Hunter combo and just playing really aggressively (love the battles where your team winning matters more than anything else, especially RGB).

Not as fast as Hornet or Wasp, but being a bit tougher has allowed me to kill lots of them. Also like to push them off things or flip them over when they go up ramps, or pin them against walls (from the side) so that they have to turn their turret to hit me. Possible at current rank / opponent skill level anyway, so enjoying it while it lasts.

I hope they don't nerf the critical damage; it's so satisfying when you're charging straight ahead with the RGB ball and finish someone off on your left or right with a critical hit. Having so much fun with it.

If you plan to continue playing with Smoky (upgrading it and the like) it might be worthwhile knowing that the way crits work changes with each modification.

For low tier Smoky (M0 and M1), critical damage is quite high for its tier, but the critical chance is relatively low. For example, M0 Smoky's crit is 660, which is roughly 2/3 of the HP of an M0 light hull, but the critical chance is 5%.

For higher modifications (M2 and above), the critical damage is lower tier for tier, but the critical chance is considerably higher. For example, M3 Smoky's crit is 744, which is less than half of the HP of an M3 light hull, but the critical chance is 16%.

So, as you upgrade Smoky, you will find that the critical damage goes down (respective to its modification) but you get crits more often. This may be a buff or a nerf depending on your point of view.

Smoky is a beast. I love it so much. A really fun thing to do is make a Hill CTF, turn on space mode, turn off supplies, and wreck every1. I've gotten so many crystals like that. The reload is insane, and if I have double damage and crit, I can on hit Dictator, wasp, Hornet, and almost viking and hunter with smoky M1.6. I use smoky viking. MUing to M2, but after I'm going to save for Paladin Kit. Is Paladin worth it?? Everybody says "Raiden is sooo much better" but I completely nuke thunder viking combos. I once fought a Thunder Viking M2 (10/10 MU) And wrecked him. One day was really depressing for me, because I got destroyed by an M3 DICATOR-RAIL He bought the M2 Dictator Rail kit (I think voltage its called? idk) and MUed it to M3. He was WO4...

IMO kits are  not the way to upgrade ny buying higher m-levels in hulls and turrets you already own.  Their only value is to buy a new hull and turret you do not own ... and no kit is worth buying unless you want to own that specific module.

It is far far better to just MU your gear to a full 10/10 then trade in for free when the next m-level unlocks. You can plan around this approach. With kits you might be sitting on your thumb for 2 months before the kit you want appears in the garage. Not only that this approach almost always costs fewer Cry.

Smoky is a really good turret. I've been debating if I should get M3 smoky and make it M4 20/20. But usually when I fight against smoky I manage to kill him.

It is a slow killer in drug wars, but a beast in pro battles. I think its main asset is that if you find a hiding spot, you can hit your target many times without him realizing where you are firing from because you have no trace on your shot.

If you had M3 smoky at your rank, you will literally dominate any battle because you'd be facing M1-M2's most of the time whilst you would have M3.

I have it 10/20, it is worth it. Best suited for DM, since it kills damaged tanks in 2 shots, has decent impact force too, make sure to use it. It goes well in CTF too, stay near teammates and you can destroy the opposition quickly, remember it's a support turret whereas Ricochet is an attacker.

I've tried today the Precision Targeting System with one of my other account and honestly I was not so impressed. In my opinion it is not worth it to buy it's reload time is really, really slow. Because of that I missed a lots of shoots...But maybe I just need to give it more time. What is your opinion guys? I like the though the Assault Ammunition, it's a beast!

I tried it a long time ago (possibly Christmas 2016) and didn't like it either as the reload is too slow. I never use smoky anymore. Ricochet and twins are far superior and you can add the alterations which make them shoot just as far as smoky... probably with higher minimum damage too.

Unfortunately Smoky is my favorite weapon, but I see now it is not so effective. Long range - useless, short range - OP by firebird, freese, isida, basically by all weapons, medium range - rico, twins. Pfff, I dedicated this account for Smoky but now I have Isida and Firebird in my garage too, because I wasn't able to get higher ranks...But I've heard Smoky gets better as M2,  it opens though by rank Colonel. When I will be able to "buy" it all other weapons are MUd to M3.

I wish the developers would give it more impact force, even with assault ammunition it's only as good as it was before they nerfed its impact, (and I'm sacrificing the crit to do that.)

Also, I'd prefer a slight increase to the ACCELERATION of the turn speed, it's been feeling a little too "heavy" since they reduced that.

unfortunately, thunder and ricochet are looking like better and better options for pure power with only a slight decrease in the "deadly dancer" abilities of the smoky.
