You are throwing away a quarter-million Cry if you have hull and turret at m2_10/10 then you buy a kit. Wait two more ranks and you get them free.

I have used both alts at once maybe twice. As Wolv said there's no real reason to do so., AA wants frequent hits to throw off aim. PTS wants CHs for the big damage.

I already have Vik m1 [10/10]

So what do you suggest ?

ok thx for info i will get both i think

I have just upgraded my Mammoth to M4 and equipped my old Smoky to see how it would do on Desert as mid defence,

It performs good, no alts equipped. Protection against Smoky is there but not overwhelming. Smoky doesn't have any problems taking down light hulls that are trying to ambush the base.

They have to pass the open mid field to do so. I prefer using Smoky above Striker even though Striker can deal way more damage. With the direct hits I can switch targets in an instant and atleast damage most of the enemies before the short range turrets take care of them.

Mammoth does nice in open terrain too. It's useful to have that little more HP when you're locked to the mid field anyway. The Magnums still take advantage of you being so slow though.

I'm pretty sure that titan and mammoth has the same amount of HP at m3 and m4.

You are 1-2 ranks from getting m2 Smoky / Viking for 0 Cry each since your m1 stuff is 10/10. You did what I did same mu steps same hull and turret.

If you are a full time Smoker get both atls but I would not get PTS unless on sale. AA is my bread and butter so even the full 50k is worth it for me.

I have been struggling with My M2 smoky for some time

Too high rank battles , but it is my favorite turret

Waiting for 50% sale to get the PTS

The Ultimate Guide to Magnum says:

Smoky is a bit under-powered if you aren't using it with supplies, especially Double Damage. Its damage output over time is too low. A Magnum will easily be able to serve two shots for the opposing Smoky. Thus, Magnum wins.

I knew it!!!  ;)

Smoky with DD = 3 shots for Mid hulls

It is irrelevant for me I barely use supplies (except Mines and Repair Kit to hold longer against druggers). You want some?  :)

With DD, you can basically 2 shot all light hulls, and possibly even one shot them with critical. Although, when Twins are attacking you, it gets annoying. Especially the M0s who can't do damage but still throw your aim off.

Lol that is right

Just run from them get far from their range and shoot

or support your tank to a wall and then shoot

What do you think about the Smoky alt that increases its reload time but also increases damage. It basically makes it a pseudo railgun. Is it worth buying?

Yes it is but it won't serve you in the attack like the stock Smoky, instead you'll have the element of suprise with the extra critical damage.

I usually sit in the bushes on the lower ground of Kungur; It'll do great as mid-fielder picking out targets from a reasonable distance.

But the knockback alt is pretty good too, it'll knock off medium hulls easily.

In Sandbox, the knockback alt is a must have.

For large maps & maps where more people have Smoky protection's

The M2 alt

For small maps & where enemies get close fast

Use the M1 alst

But i like to run with standerd Smoky if no big hulls are there

It doesn't have to be 100% long range alt for large maps; the knockback alt would suit well when going for the attack.

My alt uses smoky and gets a kill every other minute, so I hate it.

Sometimes I go hours without getting a kill with my smoky, but thats usually because either im not playing tanki or I'm using another turret, so I feel your pain

Then why did you came up with that initial answer?

because you are a legend rank and i do not know how you use smoky

If you are a pro with smoky the knokback is the best option

and at legend ranks all are runing with 50% protection form all turrets

that is why i said PTS for large maps , it seemed a more good choice , cause it also increases the crictical shot damage

:)

It wouldn't be a bad idea to use the m1 alt when you have the m3 version of the turret since the critical damage would barely be noticeable, but the knock back will be very noticeable. The m1 alt makes smoky deliver the 4th biggest knock back per shot in the game.

The m2 alt is probably at its best in the m2 ranks.

I would highly suggest not to use these two alts together though.
