It wouldn't be a bad idea to use the m1 alt when you have the m3 version of the turret since the critical damage would barely be noticeable, but the knock back will be very noticeable. The m1 alt makes smoky deliver the 4th biggest knock back per shot in the game.

The m2 alt is probably at its best in the m2 ranks.

I would highly suggest not to use these two alts together though.

1.Yes i agree , but it works only for guys who know to knock others of aim

2.well guess what i forgot to buy it in sales

3.yes the m1 alt takes away crticalshot

we get the m2 alt for the increase in critical damage

The m1 alt gives it the 4th biggest knockback?  A loss of critical and end up in... 4th?

Yikes... thought it was better than that. I mean that is supposed to be it's bread-and-butter.

Yeah but teh otehr three ar IIRC Rail, Hammer, and Striker. Magnum might be bigger too but impact is not what you are worrying about.

Rail is slower but really knocks you/ Hammer also really knocks you but you hav to be close generally.  And it is slower.  Striker shoots slower too but mostly it does not have the fine control to aim at specific parts of the enemy. Rico and Twins shoot faster with less but still significant impact, but they generally cannot aim for specifc parts of the enemy.  Thunder has a bigger impact (non-alt values) and can aim but is slower.

Smoky combines large impact with rapid fire with accuracy. Overall it is probably the best impact-based turret.

Rico can aim at specific parts if you know how to hit , even without MFS

Rico is smoky on drugs so it is also best

because you are a legend rank and i do not know how you use smoky

If you are a pro with smoky the knokback is the best option

and at legend ranks all are runing with 50% protection form all turrets

that is why i said PTS for large maps , it seemed a more good choice , cause it also increases the crictical shot damage

:)

Ah yeah, that's true. I don't know how Smoky does in the mid ranks because I am a pure Magnum user there.

The critical shot alt is probably also more effective because Smoky deals more critical damage in relation to normal shots at earlier modifications, than it does at M3 or above.

Can't agree more.. the instant hit and the reload makes it a true annoyance.

I wouldn't have to worry about someone using double armor if I can manage to land shots contiously; making the dude miss.

Mhehehehe, because no consumable affects knockback!

Maybe against a foe that stops moving when it is shooting and at closer ranges.

With Smoky you can target the very front of an enemy crossing a bridge on the other side of the map. Every so often they drive off the edge.

Yep.  Neither distance, DD,  nor modules reduce impact force.

Striker has less knock back. With the alt, Smoky is third best behind Railgun and Hammer, without it it sits fourth, behind Railgun, Hammer, and Thunder.

Played my M3 16/20 Smoky for a while last night.  Used Viking and Titan with it.

Was very disappointed in it's performance.  Seemed like it was just tickling the enemy, even at moderate distance. Switched to Ricco and was waaaaay better.

Yes seriously.... but... I play pretty much all Legends, and many are 20/20 on ALL their equipment.

I used Smoky back at M2 and it performed very well.  I graduated to M3 shortly before they did the re-balance and it has not worked nearly as well since.  I don't think smoky improved much from m2 - m3.

Paladin is still a decent kit, but for me, smoky lost it's luster after the big update.  Kits are hit-and-miss anyway with timing. You have some time to weigh your options.

I don't pay much attention to what the others are using - the battles are so quick, if you take time to look you are dead pretty quickly.

I try out a turret, and if I don't find it effective, I switch. Unfortunately (for me) I've needed to switch out smoky a fair amount.

Before the module change I think smoky protection was rare - people might have bought one triple with smoky but not multiples.  With customizable module you might see it a bit more often now.

The Smoky protection paint is not rare on the battlefield but also not extremely common like Thunder and Railgun.

If you encounter someone using protection though, it'll take you 18 years instead of 12 to finish him off.

Paladin is one of the better kits but IMO kits are a bad development strategy in these days d cheap MU and matchmaking.

Well kits make more sense if you are buying a 2nd hull and turret instead of upgrading what you use now.

Oh ok

Turret is 2nd hull is not
