I agree with the 1 and even sometimes 2 level differences. someone entering a DM with M1 vs M4 is on a death-wish and should expect to die - often.

Maybe it's for a "challenge"?  Gotta be easier ways to earn experience otherwise.

What if you join first? And the M4 comes after?

I suppose it's not impossible but... lowest level a battle can be for a Gismo is Brigadier or close to that... 8 ranks of range?

So you're suggesting a Brigadier brings M1 equipment to a battle?  Why?

Wolverine

I have m4 thunder and it is a great weapon - BUT

All the other tanks run up in your face and you damage yourself with splatter damage.

I wish they would just remove the splatter damage because it gets you very few extra kills anyway.

Occasionally, I can shoot into the flag area and kill a couple of extra tanks with splatter. But it is rare.

Give me the thunder without the splatter, otherwise I can't get off the smoky.

Smoky is faster firing, but less damage, no splatter, has a critical chance and does more damage than thunder over a distance. Smoky is better than thunder.

Only because smoky is OP. It doesn't mean thunder is underpowered in any way.

Smokey and Thunders rages are now essentially the same and exactly the same at m4. They are essentially the same weapon with a variation... fast and lighter or slower and heavier.

Thunder is nice, but I guess slop counts. You need at least some skill in hitting your target(s) with Smoky.

I'm developing those skills slowly...making jumps from higher places, shooting to keep my tank level, but shooting at enemies as I fall from the ledge on Esplanade. Did that to a wasp rcio with my teams flag. I had DD and he was driving along and i just dropped down and shot him xD

They're scrunching all three together..rail is more like thunder, thunder is more like smoky.

As with any m4 and playing at high ranks i find my m4 smoky requires a lot of double damage to get the best out of it

As for peek a boo style playing i just use my m4 mammoth and just take whatever is thrown at me while i clean up :)

They've standardised a lot of things.. check the turning speeds of the turrest (like fire turns as fast as freeze and ISida now /smoky as fast as Thunder, ..). I like that "standardisation" regarding the turrets turning speed, as it makes aiming and switching turrets easier.

Also a more simmilar min-dmg-range is usefull

But about the other aspects.. I dont like the new similiarties that much.

To me, Smoky lost it's character. The slightly higher reload time was necessary (it has to be longer then rail chargeup time, so that a human has a chance to fire back), but the critical is.. not existing any more.

Exactly. It's all about supplies. Microupgrades are kind of useless apart from protection modules.

Dude... The lowest level for a gismo is my rank.

Well it seems you have an urgent need for Viking m2- of course your m1 will get slaughtered by m4s.

Actually most of the time I'm good, its only when they start using supplies that I'm being slaughtered. Shows how much skills people have at high ranks....

10 ranks difference? Goofy.

Remember how this convo started though (nice defelction by the way)...

"Thunder don't stand a chance against smoky. One thunder shot = at least 3 smoky shots. Smoky M4 can 2 shot my M1 viking and reloads as fast as the old twins."

Still trying to figure out how the above proves Thunder doesn't stand a chance against smoky?

Once you get to M3 they are very close. At that point only real difference is the user.

I hate... NO I LOATHE ... what the designers have done to me beloved Smoky.  It is the only weapon in my garage and this latest change has made it effectively a straw with spitwads.  I am one of those players who engage from across the field so who felt the need to reduce the damage done over distance?  A projectile if flight will cause equal levels of damage at close range as it will at distance.  Basic physics boys and girls mass, acceleration, velocity any of these things ring a bell?  I am angry beyond words.  The designer who came up with these changes should be strung up by their toe nails.

..and air resistance. Velocity is not constant over the flight path

but anyways.. tanki has no physics model for shooting.

For working across the map, thunder is way better, as it has 50% weak damage (this is the damage edalt beyond the min-dmg-range
