You do not understand. At low levels a CH does something like +50% damage above normal.  At m4 a CH does something like +30% above normal.  The CH become less and less significant the higher up you rank. So this issue you feel is so significant goees away by itself once you have gained a small amount of experience and rank. 

Just because it goes away for me doesn't mean it goes away for everyone. 

 

Your proposal would chance Smoky into a weapon with the same range limitations as Hammer with a DPS of about 40%. You may as well just ask for Smoky to be removed from the game. 

lol no. Smoky's regular shots have an effective range far beyond that of Hammer. 

Also a lot of people say that Smoky is great with Assault Ammunition. That literally just proves that Smoky doesn't even need a crit to be good.

That's not what happened. I play Railgun on two Staff Sergeant accounts; the Smokies in question were M0s and M1s; not too high above me. I usually do rek them by sniping them from long-range, however I always got frustrated when they suddenly land a crit on me and take out 50-60% of my HP from cross-map (and also screw up my aim). Even more annoying when they happened to be using a Double Damage and insta-kill me. At least for this time, it wasn't rank/equipment imbalance, it was Smoky itself. 

You are supposed to time your shot before peeking out and then go for cover after you fire your Railgun.

What would happen if we buffed the firing rate of m4 smoky to 1.2 seconds?

M4 Smoky used to have 1.3 seconds reload back in the day and it was virtually the deadliest turret then.

I meant your DOA suggestion would reduce Soky to the same role Hammer has now except Smoky would be half as good at it.

 

Yes I am one of the more outspoken fans of the +impact alteration.  Here's why your retort ins nonsense.  The alteration gives my a powerful alternate attack in exchange for the Crit Hit attack.  Your DOA suggestion would just eliminate the CH in exchange for NOTHING.

 

You come here with teh sake complaint many other low-rankers have made.  TO's advancement ladder  and MU system means a Smoky powerful enough to fight against Legends (,2) can be used against Sargents using unimproved m0. Of course that seem powerful.  But this balance issue solves itself by advancing in rank.

 

Learn or just keep pushing the boulder uphill.

I never said remove the crit. You would still have a critical hit that deals 30-50% more damage than regular. You would simply not be able to snipe across the map with it.

Hammer max dmg range up to 55m

Smoky max dmg range up to 65m.   This is your definition of "far beyond"?

 

Why are you so afraid of smoky critical hit?  1-in-5 chance (at best), otherwise it just tickles.

 

If you lose to smoky at very long range it's not the equipment - it's you.

It's almost as if Smoky's range of min damage (the closest distance at which it starts to deal minimum damage) isn't 2 times greater than that of Hammer.

I rarely actually lose to it, it's just really annoying when it just blasts off 60% of my HP out of the blue. 

If you kill them what's the prob then

CH's is supposed to do that

Annoying is getting one-shotted by shaft as you finish spawning.   Suck it up buttercup.

You used the word "effective".  I don't consider smoky at minimum damage range "effective".

After waiting so long from Wo4 i finally got M2 Smoky for 0 crystals 

Now waiting for rankup and get Paladin kit

i think i read somewhere you're gonna get 3 kist from the shop? do they include paladin or are you gonna get that one from the garage?

Maybe a Shaft/Fire/Freeze kit

i was just thinking... you know how cheap bulldozer, ant and huntsman are in the shop? the prices of all 3 combined are obnly slightly more than eyfauhuehfuahuikull...

 

so if you want smoky how about buying huntsman frrom the shop... because it's so cheap you'll have extra money to get another 1 or even both of those other 2 shop kits..
