Such a crap turret this is to face man.. I stopped using Twins protection because it doesn't help at all.

I mean come on, 48% now... you'll get pounded anyhow.

I just went with my 3 friends to a RBG Iran battle and most of enemies were Twins

and i had lags so could not land my rico shots correclty

and we were getting teared down but those Brick gun

Hehehehe everyone except me, because I was also using Twins. It was fun unless the guy with Twins and 50% twins protection was around, then I ran away.

Protection definitely does affect Twins.

i took Twins,Rico&fire protection after getting slaughterd first time

and served me well with the lags

protections affect twins of course but not like it affects other turrets

 

A smoky against 50 % prot is nothing like twins against 50 %

is smoky's case it is like impossible to kill

But with twins it just takes a little longer  :angry:  :(  :ph34r:

Actually the difference is exactly the same, twice as much time to kill them.

twins prot works fine, protections also protect you from impact and if you have 50% from freeze you will see freeze can`t actually freeze you(its not mistake with m2 alt if you think), even if you have around 30-35% will notice it, idk why don`t even write in wiki , but protections work also againts impact force. For example i also notice thunder impact push me real hard if i`m without protection, but with protection is significantly less, have matter how % have againt`s  of course.

You're teh first person I've run across to state protection reduces impact force.  I haven't seen that. Any time it's come up on the forum the general assumption has been protections do not reduce impact. But now you have me wondering and wanting to test it.

 

I play smoky with the impact alteration but to be honest smoky protections are not too common. Next time I see some smoky protections in battle I guess I have found my laboratory mice.

Nothing in the Wiki about modules reducing impact. I usually have shaft protection (hate one-shot deaths) and still notice the impact.

 

Freeze protection helps but you will eventually freeze - even a Viking M3+

After the M2 mod on the rails I started using rail prot all the time. I was one shot killed in my m4 titan and declared enough is enough. That being said my hornet (while using 44 rail protection) has been flipped by a rail more than once. The impact is definitely NOT reduced 44%. Just my experience fighting against rails.

Oh really i would really like if that was like it

I went to a Legend battle in Tribute with my Marshal friends there was a M4 twins mammy

and he just turned my m2 viking fully round , i had my m2 prot for twins equpied

and i am 100% sure that it did not reduce the impact

m4 vs m2... i`m 99% sure protections reduce impact +freeze effect, test it and will see. For freeze effect i`m 100% sure, when play againts 50% freeze i never freeze them, they just walk around 10-15% slower even if i empy 70% of my energy or more only to this enemy.

Yes Freeze effect is reduced by modules

But Impact force is not

twins m4 have 160 impact force, if you have 25% againt it you will remove  40 impact so 120 impact stay and you feel it.

Well i am not sure about that

if that is the case some parkour  trick's will be impossible

and so i am sure that is not the case

Both Twins alterations are too strong compared to the standard Twins and to other turrets  :(  

Not sure...twins is definitely an easy turret to score with, but the alterations have their limits too. Just build up your twins prot asap if you are finding yourself getting dominated by them. Also notice if they are using the long range alt...if they are, then definitely close quarters combat will inflict great self-harm to them. Usually enough to allow me to limp off after the encounter.

No they have their flaws also

you see even if you take self damage away you don't have the range of the most middle range turret's

and if you take the long range alt it increases reload time and have the self damage

Both alterations have their clearly defined role and that makes them so powerful. The standard turret is mediocre and stuck in the middle of those two. When you have taken away self-damage you can take a Titan and sit on your flag, so others most of the time need to get near, but they barely have chances against you there. When you play with the long-range alt. Twins is a completely different weapon, as you can shoot from mid-range and have a lot better targeting precision, which is surely better than the +20% compared to the standard. Twins could only have such a high damage output because it used to miss a lot of shots due to its mechanic of low projectile speed.
