Yes, but manipulating this unique property of freeze takes skill. A noob will simply use freeze to attack a tank head-on. However, it takes skill to manipulate the freeze effect according to the situation. There isn't always enough space to circle a tank. Sometimes in cramped areas, you have to move your tank back-and-forth to avoid taking fire from the enemy. Firebird, on the other hand, simply fires (so to speak) at the enemy with a high DPS and easily kills the tank. If the enemy didn't die right away, then the after-burn will get him.

Keep in mind Freeze has a longer charge and shorter reload time...

I see more Firebirds who fail to turn their turret being successful than Freezes that are so.

Well, the popular belief is that railgun requires the most skill to use, right? Yet Rails that can't turn turret are wildly successful on large maps...

Successful, possibly. Wildly... eh.... I wouldn't say so.

It is obvious that a noob Fire will do better then a Freeze because of the higher DPS .

It doesn't take much to use any short-ranged turret, but it takes skill to master them and use it to it's full potential

It's funny how when I first bought freeze m1 I wanted a refund

Now I love it

M1 freeze is far from bad, it's a very nice weapon. but when you abuse the freeze effect you go all out or you don't go at all.

with freeze when my opponent is not facing me I'll just obviously attack him head on

if a rail just shot me and i didn't die or if a rail misses me ill probably just attack head on

if I'm in a real hurry to kill my opponent sometimes I'll attack head on

otherwise i now circle and fire at my opponent like how someone skilled does it

If i was good with freeze, i'd circle to taunt and only move to avoid fire, usually rocking back and forth. am I the only person that does not feel circling is the best choice?

^Rocking back and forth is an excellent strategy to avoid damage in confined areas. The disadvantage is that you will still receive some damage as at certain positions the aim of the enemy's turret and your hull will coincide. Circling prevents this situation completely. This is why it is better than rocking back and forth.

Uhm, if you circle, you are bound to intercept the turret at least once if circling 360degrees around your victim. Rocking allows you to completely avoid that.

I've only used Freeze for a little bit (when I was a WO3), but the best strategy for using it is a combination of circling and rocking. Circle your opponents so you're not in front of their turret, but change directions if you're too close to it for comfort. The best Freezes do this, and it's incredibly annoying.

Hmm, that brings back some good memories. Maybe I'll get M2 Freeze when I get M2 Wasp; it's an excellent combination, really.

Do you know when i gets so funny? Freeze is frozen by another freeze!

Sometimes this gun becomes hero :)

The best way to kill a freeze is shot it while it tries to attack another player. İt works for small maps.

That generally works if you have shaft and heavy hull. Just find a wall and lean it, after watch and kill. İf i see a freeze that is coming to me, i immediately find an egde and lean it, after twins solute my problem for me :)

Actually, if your teammates are good, freeze is not so big problem. But generally freeze is like a defence turret and players generally attack on their own.

This gun is so dangerous if you are alone and you coudln't find anythink to lean before attack.

i just love to see people miss use freeze and just attack people head on

when i first bough freeze i hated it because i stank at using it or really didn't know how to properly use it

now its awesome when i circle people its so fun because people cant do anything about it

people circle me i just circle the other way

it works well with wasp

sometimes i can even kill druggers

i didn't give my m1 freeze a chance like with all my other m1 stuff

Usually, the enemy tank is dead before you intercept the turret. But yeah, if you get close to the turret, you change the direction.

It's kinda pointless getting freeze m2 at colonel. It gets weak by that rank and bestowing MU'es at that rank is wasteful because Freeze m3 unlocks only 2 ranks away.

Yeah, that works. But then, it's only possible IF you spot the freeze. And if you spot it while using shaft, then it kinda makes more sense killing it from a distance than to wait for it to come close to you.

Freeze is very good. But when you have an OP garage with Rico, Fire and Smoky M2 and Thunder M3, there is no time for freeze :P

You can buy Freeze m3 at your rank, for heaven's sake!!! How can you have no time for it???
