I'm consider getting either M2 Freeze or M2 Hammer. For science. Any thoughts? I've had a lot of fun with both on the test server, and I know a thing or two about using them, so I think that I can be pretty effective with both.

Hammer works very well in CQC against Medium hulls and especially against light hulls. Though, it's pretty much useless against heavy hulls. Freeze is good but not as good as it use to be. I mean sure, it does a lot of damage but what good is that damage going to be if the enemy kills you first. That's why Freeze isn't my favorite anymore nor my primary choice to go into battle with. I'm still a Freeze player and I've been a Freeze player for abour 4 years now. But Tanki just ruined Freeze for me. It's more like a water gun to be honest. So overall, Hammer is the way to go if you want a guaranteed first place in short and medium map matches. But if you like the challenge, go for Freeze.

After the rebalance freeze sucks. Just got m2 freeze and it turns out it's named for deceivance. It's more damage and less freeze. I remember 2 years ago going to bases fu of mammoths and freezing the heck out of everyone and running away with flag before they knew it.

This thing deserved the nerf it got, freeze range reduced, damage increased, it's still quite effective , just not that easy to be effective.

Lol no it didn't. It didn't deserve THIS nerf. I would agree on decreasing its damage in exchange for its freezing powers back. But with Freeze not freezing that good anymore, many people would just switch to another effective weapon like Firebird, Isida, Rail, Hammer, Vulc- basically any other weapon but Freeze. I know its still effective because of its high damage but 75% of the time, you're BOUND to get killed by any other weapon. What good is a weapon if every other weapon can kill you first than you killing them. I know its good during the low ranks as it does huge amounts of damage but during higher ranks, it's pretty much a water gun compared to the rest.

Thats true..

Freeze is pretty strong in lower ranks, but as soon as you face just M3 equipment it is simply ont as usefull.

(I have to admit they increased the freeze effect recently, but it is still far away from the efficiency it had 2015-01)

With the new characteristics you can deal strong damage through a long time.

But the wizzed gameplay became totally lost..

- you can deal a lots of damage, but you need a midrange tank to do so as beeing close to an enemy means beeing shot by his friends

- In the past you could use enemy tanks as a shield.. but now the freeze effect is too weak against M3 turrets and M3 hulls. Your oponents can just kill you , except they ride titan or mammuth.

- You cant go through an enemies ambush, freezeing 3 of them and wait for reinforcements, as the time needed to demobilize a tank was increased

most of the fun is gone. Firebird with the high afterburn damage can run away earlier, and is so more likely to survive.

Isida with it's damage that is not effected by range + self healing is also a much more clever weapon compared to today's freeze.

sad thing..

ps: and don't think I like an overpowered freeze.. no way. This will be boring as well.

But today it is simply underpowered as his special ability gives him no advantage. It's now a cheap copy of firebird, that trades afterburn against a larger energy store.

ok, the other way i see that you can use it is to be a mammy freeze in the bottom of noise. it is the only way to use freeze effectively. and the only op part of freeze is that the m2 comes first. u can even use it on m0 hulls. but freeze m2 is only ok. it deals less damage than fire m1 (that has upgraded burn), it gets dealt lots of damage, and the freeze is too slow

As an experienced Freeze player...Just go for hammer. Don't buy freeze until you get to generalissimo or somethin'. Hammer is overall way better than Freeze and guarantees you first place in a battle. (if used correctly)

freeze is a very powerful weapon in any combat. just waaayyy expensive

Not really. Its the weapon will M3 can be unlocked at quite a low rank and not so expensive. It is a powerful weapon, and through changes, it can rekt enemy tanks if you know how to use it

Freeze is not as good as it was before, but it is still effective for one thing.... flag guarding. Freeze still works and can immobilize tanks enough. Especially on a map such as Monte Carlo, where you can jump from a broken bridge to get to the flag easily. Even 2 seconds of this reduced freeze will still make the enemy tank fall through the gap, even with speed boost. Anything else and its pretty bad.

^The freeze effect is the same, through M0 to M3 to M3+.

But the hulls become faster.

so in the end freeze is very effective in M0 and M1 ranks,

M2 freeze already looses ground against M2 tanks/turrets

and with M3 all the fun is gone.

With M3 you have to get really, really close - to deal the damage you need to deal, in order to survive the attack. Because the tanks can turn around soo fast that you can use a typical freeze attack only on enemies that are currently engaged with someone else.

Or you bump into them and stop them from turning.

It's a shame what they have done to this turret -.-
