Open testing of micro-upgrades

you get more failed upgrades than successfull and you only get 50% crystals back for failed upgrades

upgraded m0 hornet to the max possible it took about 90 mins to do it

protection  27 upgrades & about 39 failed upgrades

maximum speed 9 upgrades & about 19 failed upgrades

turning speed 15 upgrades & about 24 failed upgrades

weight 23 upgrades & about 32 failed upgrades

power 8 upgrades & about 7 failed upgrades

then the thousands of crystals to skip the timer between each upgrade,

one of the max upgrades was over 54 hour wait before it could be used

also upgraded m0 rail to the max also took about 90 mins and was also more failed upgrades than successfull

i will be waiting to rank each time and just upgrade then

i also just noticed sometimes you get 50% back and sometimes 0% crystals back for failed upgrades when the slider lands on the dark green you get nothing back

what a rip off

The laser choosing is quite time consuming if you were to upgrade more than once. It would be nice if there could be a way to just click and it would automatically show what you got instead of bouncing it off a couple of seconds. Great job devs!

This concept reminds me of video poker and slot machines; Hit the button and your crystals are in the hands of the whatever the developers set the probabilities at... I haven't seen any official numbers yet.

I would like to have a fast moving bar going left to right. As the bar moves where you want it, hit spacebar to stop it. As the upgrade increases, make it faster and faster. Other than that, the slow moving bar is pointless and annoying.

The current update, as of right now, only seems to be in favor of the game and developers to bring in unheard of amounts of money from the harvesting of crystals.

Micro-upgrades are cheap alright. I spent more than 30,000 crystal to fully micro-upgrade Smoky M0. To upgrade it to then next M is just 11,000. Devs should get rid of the "Unsuccessful micro-upgrade". I don't mind the waiting for the upgrade, this gives buyers a disadvantage.

Did anyone else notice that the item you Micro-Upgrade is unusable in battle until the timer has run out?

That would be very unfortunate in a M3 upgrade when the timer will cost 30,000...

There should be a way to downgrade or 'underpower' upgrades. Reasons

1. If I want my thunder to do less self damage. Especially helpful in TDM matches on small maps where I can splash damage on my enemies to get points instead of hitting hard for a kill.

2. If I want to do parkour, reducing my hornet's weight should let me jump farther and higher. (if there is no significant change, then your algorithms are wrong)

Why can't I log on with this account?

You must create an account on the test server.

Oh and for those complaining about the moving bar taking up too much time, once micro-upgrades are implemented into the actual game, I'm sure that waiting a few sec after spending thousands of crystals wouldn't be too much of a problem. Its only annoying right now as it becomes repetitive(since you have infinite crystals haha)

You know what all these negative comments are reminding me of? Rebalance complaints! Oh, those were annoying days. Suck it up and deal with it, it's for the good of the players. Plus this is open test. The devs will lower prices if they have a brain. Now just wait till the micro upgrades are live and in game before you do your complaining. Thank you.

I didn't like MUs. I wasted about 40.000 crystals to micro-upgrade my Wasp M0's speed and armor and Smoky M0's critical chance. I could buy Smoky M1 and Wasp M1 with about 25.000 crystals.

I call this an easy way of wasting crystals.

All I can get is the Russian test server (even though I chose English test server 4) and it doesn't have micro upgrades. :/

For those for whom the test server didn't work, here is a little video I made showing what micro upgrades look like on the test server. (I do talk a bit much, so you may want to skip over some parts) ;)

ok say u just micro upped all of your hulls within the last day then u have to wait in order to play the game then what?

The timer works not only when you are in the game. You can switch off your pc and go somewhere. It doesn't matter whether you are logged in or not. When the timers runs out, you get your upgrade installed.

Semyon, the longer you wait for a micro-upgrade, can the "instantly upgrade" cheapen. For example, if I have to wait, 45 hours, and I wait 30 hours, can the "Speed up" cheapen by say....40%?

Also, can the prices cheapen in general as well as there would be more of a chance you'd get 50% refund than regular "unsuccessful"?

These prices are not final, so let's wait and see. The Instant upgrade button most likely won't get cheaper as the main idea of MUs is to manage your time cafefully, upgrade step by step, up to the moment you get the next M.

there should at least be an option to hurry the sliding bar thing up, I don't want to sit there and watch that like maybe if we click the box its just hurries up and skips to the result

Already reported that. The sliding bar thing will move about 2 times faster than it does now.

But this'll only largen the gap between buyers and non-buyers, then...? Correct me if I'm wrong :)

Not exactly. You see, I think that even buyers won't upgrade all the stats to the maximum, it's just pointless. Imagine if everyone upgraded all the stats of all the hulls and turrets to the maximum. There wouldn't be any difference, everything would stay the same, upgraded railgun hits upgraded mammoth, no difference. It's much wiser to upgrade one of the stats to the maximum, or a couple of them. Choose what you like and concentrate on it. If players stick to it, there will be lots of M1 wasps that will be completely different. Adds variety to the game, that's the point.

To conclude, buyers have advantage in games where there are 2 currencies (for buyers and non-buyers). Here in Tanki we all use the same crystals. So you can compensate by just playing more and using your skills.

As I said previously, nobody forces you to fully MU your smoky. Chose one or two parameters and max at least one of them. You will still get the discount for the next M. And remember that the speeding up thing is an additional feature, we will all learn to manage our time and plan your MUs if we don't want to spend extra crystals.
