I have yet to buy M1 since I'm broke, but I have seen M1 Vikings dominate way too many Silence CTFs. About a week ago, this drugging M1 Viking/Twins combo on the other team completely dominated the whole game. He didn't get killed once, but killed about 80 people (this was a 15 minute match). He captured around 10 flags. Just today, a M1 Viking/M0 Isida on my team was right up there with me at the top, he captured around 4 flags, had a pretty good d/l of over one. Amazing defender (he was not drugging).  So, as I've seen, it is a phenominal defender nondrugged, and an amazing attacker drugged. You should get it, I will. You should probably seek advice from someone who does have it though.

Yes - but in the Lieutenant ranks, find something to fill the gap between M1 and M2.

+1. At M1 and M3 Viking is completely outclassed by Dictator - that's definitely worth the extra crystals.

But you have to wait until generalnissmo to get dictator m3, and since until you reach generalnissmo other m3 viking users can MU to generalnissmo, i guess thats why viking is a bit underated by most peeps at m3

Viking has moderate speed....not for speed enthusiast. Have to disagree with it being overrated since its the only hull I use! :) It has surprising agility for a large tank especially if MU'd some. I can definetly shake and bake you, even if you have faster tank!!  :P Good way to handle freezes is with turret rotation speed....sometimes overlooked MU but one of my favorites works very well! :D

You might have a point with Twins on Viking. That 's not a very good combo IMO.

 

And Viking getting pawned by Freeze? Every hull gets pawned by Freeze, even drugged hulls, when it manages to get in range.

 

 

But to call the Viking a hopeless tank: well than I seriously doubt your overall skills.

 

Even the Viking M1 is quite good, but I do agree it 's not "it" in topspeed and turning speed.

Acceleration is already good compared to other hulls.

 

This minor speed-issue however gets completely fixed when the Viking M1 upgrades to the amazing M2,

which is IMO a perfect balance between HP and speed: something you will never know! :P

Yeah, Viking M1 is the perfect hull. I love it at M0, M1, M2 and probably M3 when I'll get there.

I agree; M1 Viking does begin to come a bit underpowered, at which point I started using M2 Hornet. But now I have M2 Viking, it's all I ever use. :)

Yes, but other hulls own viking at m3 and freeze m2 and m3 have thier limits, every hull can get powned by freeze but as the ranks go higher ive noticed freeze is less effective even though its powerful, i'd say unless you drug on freeze you wouldnt get very far when it gets to major and above battles especially when you can get twins m2 and stuff like that, freeze just fills in the holes for lieutant battles and probably a few other ranks

No, other hulls don 't pawn Viking M3. You are one of those who believe stats tell the whole story, well they don 't!

 

I have been playing quite a lot of drugless Pro Battles against Gens with all kinds of M3 hulls with "just" my Viking M2 - Thunder M2 and still did quite well. Look at these posts and than tell me again that Viking M3 (which is really better as the M2) gets owned by other hulls.

Really, any hull can be perfect if someone has the right skills for it. In my opinion, the underrated equipment is always the best equipment, its just people don't have the skills to use it well. For example, everyone hates on Wasp, but if your good at it you dominate the battle field because you can literally run circles around even Mammy Firebirds without getting scratched and you outrun all those Hornets. Some people do well on Hornet though because they need the extra stability and armor.  The only hulls I think do not matter on skill is Mammoth and Titan, really, because, exactly how, do you use skills with them?

You have a good point, so I agree. It 's just that a lot of other people have a lot of talk and bring their personal opinions as true facts, but never can show anything substantial to prove their points.

 

Well, I don 't hate on Wasp! I do prefer Rail with a Hornet, but I am becoming a huge fan of Wasp with Firebird or even better IMO Freeze.

No hull can make such fast tight manouvres and circles like the Wasp. Which is a huge benefit when using these weapons.

 

With Mammoth and certaintly Titan you should still have the skill to move your tank in every desired direction, as well for- as backwards driving.

Ofcourse it 's a lot, a lot easier than handling a Hornet with its drifting or a Wasp with its lesser stability.

@Lord : I wasn't saying you hate Wasp, just that it is underrated. I use Freeze/Wasp on my alt sometimes but I still get better scores with Thunder, you should try it!

Umm... have your ever heard of MUs? Viking has much more health than Dictator when both are fully MUed, and you only seem to care about health.

But, let him use his Dictator along with all those with that mindset - it just makes for easier opponents in the battlefield.
