For me, it's Wasp, Hunter, and Mammoth.

Viking feels worse post update. Two reasons: extra weight counterbalanced by increase in impact force of other weapons. Increased weight reduces ability to manoeuvre while in flight, I find im flipping a lot more than before.

Got a similar experience so far with Hornet. Still very playable, but it had a slight nerf.

 

Haven 't been playing non-test battles with Viking yet, very curious how it handles. 

I take your word for it: so it most likely had the same sort of treatment as Hornet.

 

Not complaining, it was to be expected. Both hulls are too popular.

 

Though TO should IMO also bring out more kits with those less popular hulls if they

really want to stimulate hulls like Hunter.

Bringing out "Medic" and "Jackhammer" kit containing both Viking isn 't very helpful...

How is Viking M4 in higher ranks? Will it lose out to Hunter m4 if paired with short range guns like Firebird or Isida? (let's say it's polygon CP- since almost everyone loves playing in it)

Don 't expect the Viking M4 would loose from the Hunter M4 in such a direct confrontation,

but the Hunter M4 will IMO be more effective in general.

Close-range weapons thrive on faster hulls.

 

Though in Polygon CP "pit-wise" the Viking M4 certainly has more endurance: in most other Maps

I would prefer Hunter M4 above Viking M4 with short-range turrets.

To be honest, I find viking to be too slow for freeze after the changes in it's freezing mechanisms. Frozen enemies can easily escape considering how most players use hornet. Ideally, a light hull like wasp or hornet would be best with freeze post update. I would, therefore, recommend you to try using the combo and get the kit only if you still find it effective to play with.

Freezes increased damage takes care of the hornets :P

Imo hunter would be very good with freeze,

Even so, they can simply turn around and return fire. Also, the range of maximum damage has been nerfed a lot. You have to be extremely close to cause substantial damage. Viking can't stay that close for long enough to destroy the enemy tank.

Hunter would be okay with freeze. Not that great, in my opinion. It faces the same problem that viking and other heavier hulls face with freeze- on a lower scale of course, but still enough to make it a lot less effective than light hulls.

in maps like polygon viking is better, because of its flat surface that can make you hide from freeze and fire when you go into a lower surface area 

and what is very important is its fast acceleration around 1500 compared to only 1100 for hunter .. so it can bounce and jumps and thus you can shoot up and down with guns so easy and you can head so fast toward the center or do fast maneuverability , while Hunter is very deceiving in shape, it has the same size of viking and more height than viking , it helps in big maps .. however still hornet and waps are better for big maps because of hunter's slow speed and acceleration .. and that places hunter at a place that you can't say if its medium nor a fast tank.. its position is unclassified !

I recently bought m1 viking and guys.... ITS AMAZING  :D best hull ever. It goes great with m1 firebird and Marine paint. Try it out its amazing, also its good for goldboxes, so tell me what you think! ;)
