I like to keep the up-arrow-button pressed and make use of full speed, going through obstacles like on rails (I actually practised that a lot to be able to drive like that with Wasp and Viking). Now it drifts and I loose time, get catched by enemies more easy before I make it around the saving corner and yeah... ah forget about it :P

Well I have M0 on this account and M1 on my main. Mo has little over 1100 so i just rounded it down and said 2200 to simplify and generalize it :P

 

Also, I'm rather great at racing games, so drifting isnt a problem. Just gotta ease of the up arrow button a bit. (tapping in other words)

Or you can stop and spin around :p OR just drive backwards! I try to make my tank as versatile as possible :p Say I'm on Brest and playing ctf, going to steal blue team's flag. You'd have to go up the ramp and turn back around to get it if you're coming from the front. Instead I'll just go in reverse to get the flag, opposed to turning then taking. It saves time :p

I know, like in Rio when you go to get the blue flag you don't turn around, you just back around the corner.  But by your argument I still don't see how drifting is beneficial except as a "cool" factor.

I'm still deciding whether or not I like viking (style wise), but I think it looks good with shaft, smoky, thunder, isida, and vulcan.

Hunter is too light for me and dictator is too slow for me

Maybe you like to notice that the hunter - after the balance - is now heavier then a Viking.

they swapped Hunter and Viking in most of their characteristics.

 

It is now:

viking: fast, light, drifts

hunter: little slower, medium weight, drives nice curves

Dictator: slow, heavy weight, and I forgot how it drives..

 

Actually they should change the sequence of the tanks in the garage, because within a group os same HP they are sorted by speed

Viking's shape helps it a bunch. I know from experience that the wide profile of viking means that freezes have to draw a bigger circle...meaning you can keep up with them. The width also helps with stability, if you land the wrong way it will re-adjust.  Also, the low profile is less conspicuous and good for stealth.

Unfortunately it slides around a lot more than it used to. Feels like a drunken sow at times.

I know what you're talking about with Freeze...it's quite fun to see them fail to take me down 60% of the time. just turn the tank and turret and shoot! :D

If you like to compare non-drugged tanks to drugged ones, and drugged turrets vs non-drugged hulls, you can claim every turret and hull as "the best".

On the wiki, there is a page with the MU's to everything; modules, turrets, hulls, etc.  It's in "Game Mechanics"

Hmm I used to love my hunter, had m2 long before I got any viking, but I needed something beyond m2, and Viking was available. Used to feel slow compare to the Hunter, but since the rebalance there's no longer any point to using Hunter at all.  Its become slower, weaker....  Having said all that, the Viking now flies, and does donuts.

 

I'll happily stand by Viking, definately with thunder, but I believe it will work equally well with any number of turrets.  Only major drawback for me is small fast people that can either outrun you significantly, or slow you down like freeze.
