This is 100% correct.  Except for the part about literally.  And the part about only.  Other than that...

 

Isida is fine with Viking - speed allows it to close distance with enemy or team-mates, and Freeze is similar to firebird.

  

 

I'm so glad I don't have to type this post in again.

 

 

Firebird is overpowered on any hull, not just on Viking. Of course, it's probably the only turret that is even useful on Viking.

If you knock off a freeze, it'll take that much longer for it to refreeze you and kill you, also similar with isida and twins.

If you knock off a firebird, you better hope you did in time before they have the burn set on you, other wise you're practically done because the burn produces constant damage.

 

And in addition to that, if you knock off an isida, it'll take that much longer for it to kill you assuming it has enough energy left.

I use Isida on Viking all the time.  Sure it gets knocked off aim sometimes - but I also end up with a lot kills too.

 

Is Hornet any more stable than Viking?  I think not - yet my alt account often uses Freeze/Hornet combo.

They can't knock off my aim while I circle and freeze them in place - killing them from the flank.

 

So you can keep re-posting ur post - it won't be any more true when you post it for the 139th time...

Hornet isn't as wide as Viking, which is an advantage itself in my book.

You should give Wasp a try, the grip is amazing and suits the circling thing well, especially with recoil-less weapons.

After bashing Viking ever since the flipping of Hunter and Viking I now offer something positive on the Viking. I just got the duplet alt for hammer...I didn't realize how much lift it causes on the hull. The first time I used it with my Hunter I completely missed the second shot due to being at a 10% elevation from the recoil. I think Viking and Titan are incredible with this alt. Viking stays so flat after each shot that you truly can land most all pellets every shot. 

 

NOTE: I realize I have very limited time with the Hammer, but it seems a perfect fit for the viking. 

 

What do others think?

This is absolutely incorrect. As an experienced user of both thunder and Viking, I can tell you that thunder is a midfield and even a camping turret that heavily relies on stability to be an effective turret. Viking doesn't have enough stability for thunder to perform decently in battles. Also Viking doesn't have the hull rocking ability at the same extent as something like a hunter does.

defiantly hammer, but we already have enough of those. I play with hammer and viking all the time and its a really good combo because the viking keeps the tank from tipping from the recoil the hammer produces and at the same time yon can use the hammers impact force and vikings short height to flip other tanks by getting under them, cant to that with thunder without damaging yourself plus its easier with hammer. and with hammer even if you miss you'll still to a solid amount of damage

also question, I have about 20k crystals at the moment and my M2 hammer is on step 9 of 10 and I will be MUing it up to m3. My M2 viking is at step 3 of 10 and I am in a dilemma on wether to save up and get the Paladin kit which has m3 smokey and m3 viking or if I should just Micro Upgrade my M2 viking to m3.

 

First off do you think I can save up for the Paladin kit  [336,720 cry] by the rank of marshal keeping in mind that I am a non-buyer (broke student, I have nothing against buyers). Also I want to start MUing to m3+ faster thats why I was leaning towards saving up for Paladin. 

 

Im not much of a smokey player and I would mainly be buying the kit for the viking m3

or I might go for the Medic kit [332,910 cry] since I'm a really good medic though I already have another account for isida GetRektSkrub_i.

 

any suggestions would be helpful

getting to marshall with viking m2, you will not have much fun.

you need an m2 10/10 hull, especially considering your main turret is hammer (short range), so your hull will take a lot of hits before you get enemy base.

 

so keep upgrading viking, and you could buy hornet isida kit, its not that expensive

Viking isn't best with Railgun and striker because of the instability. Better to just use them with hunter.

I would have preferred if Viking got its weight back. But I have to admit it's new OD has made the hull decent for turrets like thunder, railgun, etc again.

Am I wrong ?

and how much speed decrease ? (in my opinion too much)

Here are my complaints :)  :

 

- Viking speed has changed, I think it is too slow now, with or without speed supply

- Vulcan turret is now very weak, almost unusable (except with overdrive & supplies)

I thought that too.  The last few days Viking doesn't seem as fast with SB as it used to be.
