How do you figure that?

 

You see a lot of Vikings because many of us had already invested too much into Viking to make the switch.

 

The weakness becomes so apparent when you have a Ricco trying to fight a twins in Industrial zone.  Could barely get a shot on the twins as it's ridiculous impact kept turning my Viking.  Sad.

 

When I started an alt account, guess which medium hull I have invested in....

It is the most commonly used medium Hull on the M2 Levels 

Cause M1 Viking is way more cheaper than M1 Hunter and it unlocks earlier that is why it is more common and Most Start MU ing it right away

and end up with M2 Viking and start saving for a Hunter m3 Kit {  :rolleyes:  , Looks like my story xd}

Well it's not really faster than Viking. But you wouldn't be wrong if you said that hunter is better than viking nowadays.

Viking is one of those things that I equip almost all the time because I am used to it, same with railgun. I will get hunter on the next sale but it would have to be perfect to make me switch.

Viking is clearly outclassed by Hunter and Dictator, I used to think it's low weight and power didn't matter but now I realized they completely changed the gameplay experience with it.... easily drifts like Hornet, and has it's aim knocked off like Wasp. 

 

 

To call it medium is a crime, it should have it's HP reduced and join Hornet and Wasp as the 3rd light hull !

It has more speed though, 0,5 m/s more than Hunter and 1,0 m/s more than Shoe.

The choice for short range weapons, the fact that we've 9,5 m/s on a medium hull is ridiculous.

 

On the other hand, it's low profile makes it unsuitable for long range weapons, and the stability is extremely bad.

I bought this thing because it once was the most stable hull and boom they switched the stats between Hunter and Viking.

 

I got Hunter now, it's mu'd 7/20, my preference of long range turrets forced me into buying this thing; I'll get it out on the field when it reaches M4.

Firebird on Viking is so overpowered lol.. you zoom around the map with 3000 freaking HP, touch 'm for a second and they're either dead or severely crippled.

Exactly, this extra speed is completely unwanted unless you're using short range turrets, not any other weapon needs it. Might as well trade off that speed with some more weight, like what Viking used to be years ago, I loved that Viking.

Firebird is overpowered on any hull, not just on Viking. Of course, it's probably the only turret that is even useful on Viking.

 

If you knock off a freeze, it'll take that much longer for it to refreeze you and kill you, also similar with isida and twins.

 

If you knock off a firebird, you better hope you did in time before they have the burn set on you, other wise you're practically done because the burn produces constant damage.

Hunter used to be the fastest medium hull, but now Viking is the fastest, and lightest, and has the least power of them.

 

The problem is that the speed advantage it has over Hunter and Dictator is not sufficient to justify it's horrible stability compared to them.

With all the Firebirds running around in battles now I am appreciating Viking's speed more than ever. I think it makes up for the instability.

Yes - for Isida, Firebird and Freeze, Viking is probably more effective than Hunter.

Firebird is literally the only turret that's useful on Viking. Firebird is that much overpowered.

This is 100% correct.  Except for the part about literally.  And the part about only.  Other than that...

 

Isida is fine with Viking - speed allows it to close distance with enemy or team-mates, and Freeze is similar to firebird.
