Meh, not really... Mammoth is such a big target, people shoot at it a lot more than Titan.

The Mammoth is a chunk of worthy metal, which is good for defending the flag, because of it's slow speed and big armor/tank, which is relatively used with Shaft, so you don't die shafted by other snipers.

That's true.... In one battle there's this drugging guy with a Mammoth-Twins M1, and EVERYONE shot at the guy. He got a really high D/L though. I have to run from him so much with my Ricochet/Hornet and ambush him sometimes. Fails most of time.

Why do so many people think mammoth and freeze are a great combo? Freeze is a close range weapon, and you can't get very close to the enemy with such a slow tank!

Why not? Its good as a flag defender in CTF(Capture the Flag) because of its great health and great damage! And if you can't win, you drug.....

I just used Thunder / VIking in a Desert DM, drugging a bit, with very good results. My only setback was the Railguns sniping me across the map... imagine Mammoth in that situtation....

Desert DM indeed suits Thunder - Viking very well. I try to stay as much as possible between the walls, and by doing so am a bit saver from the railers, but you sure got take a blow once in a while. Mammoth IMO is too slow and coverless in this map.

 

Used Cedar and Tundra in Desert DM and it doesn 't really matter which one you choose, it all comes down to the question:

do you like to be wasted by Thunder or by Rail? :)

I had about 4 different Hornet - Freezes after me in that battle... so Python probably would have been the main saviour. Most of them were M2 as well, so they took 3 shots.

never use mammoth unless on big maps. it is a useless, hunk of metal that can easily be hunted down and destroyed.take my advice, and use it well on de battlefield :)

Just sit in one place and shoot things with Mammoth. Thunder is fantasic with it, but Railgun and Smoky are very good with it too. If you like that play-style. I hate it, and I think most people do, it's so boring.

Just keep that weapon on your Mammoth and you will IMO do a lot better, than when you put a Thunder on it.

 

Still it puzzles me, why somebody would love such a sitting-duck like Mammoth: and you can 't argue, it 's my puzzle! :D

For this reason I would put Twins on the Mammoth. Very fast rotating gun, even hard to Freeze!

 

Take this combo (at M3 it 's truly OP, with lower upgrades it 's best to take the Titan instead IMO)

to a small to medium Map like Polygon and you will be hard to beat.

Do not use this combo in larger maps without cover, because the long-range weapons ánd Thunder will pawn you,

simply by staying out of distance.

 

Mammoth - Twins is also very effective against short-range weapons due to the huge impact force.

 

So it is effective and very strong in some Maps, especially on drugs, still I will never use it:

I simply don 't like to play all the time, as if I have just escaped a Freeze attack... :D

I remember a game where my team was all in these tiny fast tanks. This mammoth comes out of no where with twins and murders us all while his railgun, and isida buddies backed him up. Really good on highland
