True IMO! Only problem is it upgrades very, very late. In the mean time you can have the Hornet M1 ánd M2!

 

The Hornet M2 five ranks earlier as the Wasp M2, I may add!

 

In evenly capable hands Wasp M2 should outperform the Hornet M2.

 

 

Viking - Rail has superb HP but also: lack of speed to go from one good spot to another, relatively slow turning rate combined

with slow turret-rotation and peek-a-boo: I don 't think so.

The unlock problem of wasp isnt much, you can have a good protected paints againts rail and other guns like digital or low priced tundra! wasp m2 in my next rank is really OP with its speed and good weight ,,,, you can survive rail m3 shoots with tundra paint if you mu it some little (only 4 step)  ;)

Tundra: are there only Railguns shooting at you? ;)  (maybe you stick to XP battles?)

 

With Wasp my mate TwentsRos convinced me that having multiple protection is a lot better. A true Waspy himself.

You don 't have to survive multiple shots from one particular gun, but one shot from multiple guns. So yes Digital is fine.

 

And I wasn 't saying it is impossible to get to Wasp M2 with Wasp M1, but you do let it sound like it is "a walk in the park". ;)

 

edit: following the survive-one-shot theory: Corrossion (partly Mu 'd) is an early unlocking, cheap and great "Wasp" paint

        which also has the much needed Thunder protection. I am going to take this path too.

        Planning: Rail with first Wasp M1, than Hornet M1+M2 and "finally" Wasp M2.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I was planning to get corrosion, probably after M1 Thunder (I"m so broke! :( ) ,but then I'd have to wait even longer for Viking.... ok I"ll work that out but as for my Wasp problem..
I hate Hornet and I'm not even considering it. I'm so used to Wasp's lightning quick reflexes that the drift just kills me. Every time. That is why I was considering Hunter.  And if I get corrosion, will Wasp be better for all those ranks to come? Also, will a few MUs (on Wasp) make a significant difference?

I think Corrosion will mean you won't need Viking M1 for a little longer, at least until you get Thunder M1. Then you can use Thunder / Viking / Corrosion, which is a great combo.

No, paints are not needed. I played without paint for a long time, back in 2013, when I used the Reporter paint. I only started using protective paints in December, after that 50% sale in which I got Cedar and Hohloma. Back then I already had 11 M2s and I liked using reporter because I thought that if you can do well with no paint, you'll do even better when you'll get a paint later on. I still use Green/Reporter from time to time.

"I thought that if you can do well with no paint, you'll do even better when you'll get a paint later on.": same reason I would advice to stay away from drugs (not always possible in CTF and TDM, I know) at the start of a Tanki carreer: if you can do well without drugs etc........(in my view ofcourse)

Before the New Physics it was a pretty usefull paint though, but yeah that nasty almost fluorescent green... :D

If you have Forester, MU it a bit if you haven't already and then you should be good until you have M1 Thunder or whatever you are getting. I think you will want a better paint before any M2s though.

Vettefan 22 Don't forget this anyway! : The much important parameters for wasp is (by importance )

1:Protection

2:Turning speed

3:Weight

and ...

As you see you must be sure yourself from protection... I suggest get a Good paint like tundra before buying another hull gun paint! Its need ness!

Indeed just keep with the Forester, which is a good paint (I would vote it nr. 1 for most cost effective paint any day),

and like Revilo said MU it and it will work well against Railers.

On both my new alt. accounts I am using Forester 15%, that 's how good I think it is (at lower ranks)

Corrossion is very nice and still a thing to consider when you have earned enough crystals, but now first Thunder and Viking!

I got it m2 with smoky and it does a great job, for me wasp is all about skill and how can u control stability and shoot at the same time. I heard that thunder and wasp is a great combo but I never tried it

Yeah, for a Wasp/Thunder they're good. Fire would do better in this map though.

I agree, the map has a lot of little cramped spots or big open spots, neither of which suit Thunder.
