Some tell yes, some say no.

I personally say no (at the momnet), but they recently seemed to have buffed freeze a little.. so maybe they now take care of this unlucky turret (M2 is nice, but M3 cant compete against other M3s any more. Watch the last vLog, and notice how far the Vikings could turn around, although they have been frozen for seconds).

If your enemies are fast enough to turn around and fight you, then Wasp is maybe not the best platform for Freeze any more.

Or you have enough patience, to attack only targets that are already distracted and where you come exactly from their dead angle of view.. but this limits freezers usability.

Of course all that is only true, if you run without drugs  On drugs an M3(M4) freeze is an almost constant stream of pure death, due to it's high damage and low energy consumption.

(I preffer to play non-drugged, and match my skill. I have no benefit from overpowering others, and so have no need to improove skill wise. If I want to overpower others I would go and create a noob account; no costs, no waiting, no nothing - just pure & boring overperweness)

If you plan to get M3 Wasp/M3 Freeze, please notice that there is a kit (Boreas I think) that comes with M3 Wasp, M3 Freeze, Taiga paint. Rank: two golden stars.

I'm getting Boreas to get my Wasp M3 early. I have 165K saved up for it so far. I expect to have 100K left over for MUs. Should I use them all on the Wasp M3 or MU the Freeze M3 some as well? My dream tank is Firebird M3 + Wasp M3 + Zeus, although I do like Freeze.

Yes, MUs go a long way when it comes to M3s, I recommend you MU Freeze first, since turrets that unlock earlier (Thunder, Shaft, Freeze, Isida etc.) benefit the most from MUs. I see M4 Freezes dominate entire battles sometimes.

With freeze the first ~4 seconds of an attack are most cruicial (first part of immobilisation time). Those you have to survive. Afterwards the damage you deal is secondary. I would go for Wasp (health, aproach & cycle speed).

Check the wiki and see what you get for your crystals on wasps health and on Freezes damage.

Notice that the time-to-freeze dows not become shorter if you microupgrade the freezer !

I currently use a Firebird M2 with 16 MUs (which isn't far from a Freeze M3's power). I have plenty of experience from Freeze at the M2 and M0 levels. I calculated the upgrades, and if I use all the crystals on the Freeze M3, I can get it to 70 damage. If I use all the crystals on Wasp M3, I can get it to 160 protection. I'm thinking most should go towards Wasp since it is part of my dream tank, but MUing the Freeze some as well may be a good idea, since it is my second favorite turret and a great back-up weapon for when many of my enemies have paints with good protection from Firebird on. From my experience in DMs, Freeze is usually better than Firebird because of the Freeze effect and because it doesn't have the burning time feature (makes it easier for rivals to steal kills from you that way). Recently I played a friend who used Boreas with my Firebird M2 + Wasp M1. I won marginally, probably more because of skill rather than stats. He could sometimes kill me first but my burning time always destroyed him. Of course, my Wasp M1 is MUd 31/50, so my chances against him were good.

consider that in higher ranks paints like Zeus become common.

(Especially through hte prometheus kit). Unfortunately the paints effect the time-to-be-frozen (at least I had the impression throughout from Freeze M1 to M3). This makes it twice as hard, as the M3 hulls + turrets turn so fast, that you are unlikely to make much use of the freezing effect on such tanks (you will not get out of their line of fire, which is a death sentance for a Wasp).

As the Freezing effect does not MU anyways, this is one more reason to invest more in your Wasp then in the Freeze.

So I still think that the MUs are better spent in your Wasp then in your Freeze.

Which other turrets will you use on your Wasp?

Hammer definitely. I know the impact affects a Wasp greatly, but I can use that to my advantage, flipping over the enemy and pounding lead into them. Smoky would also be a good option as a highly mobile long-range weapon. It is true that Zeus protects extremely well from Firebird, but there is a paint with great protection from pretty much all turrets. These paints are all common at the high rank level. I have fought Generalissimos and I can attest that although many of them have Zeus, Firebird just isn't used commonly enough at that level for them to equip that paint regularly. Many get Firebird M3 but then don't use it as their primary weapon.

Yeah, that and Thunder are the most seemingly impractical but actually useful in the right hands combos.

With Wasp I think Hammer is better than Thunder, Wasp/Hammer is quite popular in high rank battles now.

Very effective against fast close-rangers, and it 's three-shots clip shoots as fast as a Smoky which

really helps, as is the high DPS.

Suited for a "die a lot, kill a lot" kind of gameplay

Thunder 's reload is too slow for Wasp imo and you also have to deal with the splash damage.

(good Wasp turrets: all three close-rangers, Rail, Smoky and Hammer)

That's great for around my rank, but what about at the M3 level? Also, you might want a little more protection from Railgun considering it does the most damage of these and can 1-shot Wasps.

Difference M3 and M4:

  • The default values of the paint grat you survival if an M3 Wasp faces enemy M3 turrets
  • The max values of the paint grant you to survive the same number of shots from M4 gear - if you have an M4 Wasp.

The paint parametes are calculated for M3 and M4

  • Rail will not 1shot you
  • After Hammers second shot you have at least 1HP left
  • After Thunders second shot you have at least 1HP left
  • Smoky.. well.. maybe needs 1 shot more if you are lucky

  • If someone else evan scratches you, your will die sooner of course (there has to be a drawback)

(but actually I did not check the values at M1 and M2.. but this should be one of the high tier paints anyways)

Your paint offers 50 protection combined against all the turrets. This is less protection than the paints that unlock at Captain. I think that paint would be good at the M2 level early on but it is really a weak paint. You might want another version at the M3 level that has 100 protection total from turrets that unlocks at Commander or Generalissimo for the avid Wasp fans. Plus, the upgrades on each protection are really small, much smaller than on typical paints.I think this paint as it is is worth 80K crystals or so. The protections on this paint just aren't good enough to justify spending over 100K on it.

you're right, I had the wrong maximum-overall-protetcion in mind.

I thought it was 50%.. but it is 100% for higher tier paints.

I will rework it in a few days.

thanks for the hint with the overall protection limit!

It looks good to me. I suggest you have it unlock at maybe Field Marshal or Commander and cost ~200K-250K crystals.

Your proposed ranks and costs do quite well match what I had in mind. It's definitely a high tier paint, and the price should be about 250k.

I wonder if other hulls then Wasp would make high use of it.
