If you practice using wasp for along time and get really skilled, it's a great flag stealer. But it still has its disadvantages. For example, big maps like Madness are to big for it. Wasp performs well only on medium and small maps.

Wasp is very good to steal enemys flag, for it's fast. But it's weak. I use wasp every time in parkour, or if i steal flags, i do in Rio in house roof  360 down for it's cool :D And i can capture fast flag.

                                           Hello there! :)

This message is for all the people who think that wasp is a useless hull that's easy to kill. Wasp is more than you think. In TDM. it's driven by tankers who are not afraid to destroy get destroyed for the benefit of their team. In CTF they are the first to go and get the flag back not caring how will they do it. Even with the turrets. On firebird it makes a great short range killer. On smoky it becomes the most annoying target and the funniest combo to see in battle. On railgun it can rule XP\BP battles. With thunder it can make a great combo for parkour and very impressive acrobatics. So before you accuse a wasp as a useless object moving around senslessly at high speeds. Remember what it can do. Without my wasp i would never be a great player as i am today. Wasp is love... Wasp is life...

The wasp had absent forward and backward bumpers(or whatever you call them). When reverse-drive while driving at neck-breaking speed,Wasp takes the gun to almost limitless angle.

Yeah the hull flips, but here is a trick:-

Whenever you get a shot at the turret and your tank is about to flip, take a sharp turn in the direction of the hit and opposite to the tilt. You will take a very shard turn and will not flip.

The wasp can climb up places when its about 40% above it. I use it to prevent from falling in Monte Carlo. People think that it is just end,but then I climb up back XD.

Wasp is really bad on offense, thanks to its even-below-low armor. Use its speed and its turret placement to your advantages.

Another thing is that wasp, while faster than hornet, has slow acceleration. If you remember physics. It takes time to hit top speed. So whenever to make a tilt hit or running off a cliff or jumping over a ramp, make sure you run a certain straight ground to gain speed.

Thats it

I have wasp m1 with railgun m1 and firebird m1.  Wasp is great due to its speed and agility.  Wasp does not slide like hornet.  With rail I can shoot once, avoid enemy using the speed of wasp and then finish of with 2nd shot.  With wasp you will not get hit often if you know how to use it and on right maps.  I find wasp easy to control and it is fun to drive with it, either in reverse or in forward mode.   When using Wasp+Railgun every shot counts even more than with other hulls.  Therefore it is crucial you can time your rail shots well when peeping behind a corner to shoot a Shaft for example.   I recommend Wasp+Railgun to those who can master both driving Wasp and timing of the  Railgun shot.  If your driving skill is not good enough, you will be a sitting duck.    If your shooting skills are not good enough, you will be dead soon.

Wasp+firebird is good to get flags and return flags from enemy base.  I use Wasp+firebird quite often in kamikaze mode to help the team.  I have found Wasp+Firebird to be the quickest way to get crystals and higher ranks.

Along with Hunter (another unpopular hull) M2 this was my other main hull I used at my M2 ranks. It's so much fun, is excellent at gold boxes, and unlike Hornet, it has no drift - a huge plus. And it seems to work with all turrets (yes, including Thunder and Shaft). But unfortunately there's the stereotype that all Wasp users are weak and that makes them seem like an easy target.

I truely see that those M0, M1 pilots that try out a wasp get anoyed of it.

But meet an M2 pro (somone better then me, cause I am a noob :p) , and you change your mind.

Camping works great with a wasp, because if someone spots you and comes to chase you down - you just drive away, backwards, shooting at him from long range. As a good camper you use your wall, and a wall has unlimited HP (even without drugs, actually and awesome fact).

The main advantage between Wasp and Hornet is not speed.. it is agility.

When you frive at full speed you are just a little bit faster then a Hornet (up to M3) but if you take a curve, a Wasp _drives_a_curve_, like on rails; where the Hornet driiiiiiftsss endlessly. So a Wasp can slip away and evade fast.

Hornet on the other side has superior stopping and acceleration power, which makes it a fabolous dodger. A Wasp dodges by driving curves, a Hornet by pretending turns (it drifts anyways) and do stops and accelerations. As the tanki lag does it's part too, that stop-go-rock dodges or the classic hornet dance work great as dodges.. far batter then a wasp ever could.

I often defend on larger maps by playing Wasp Rail. If the battle is drug-free, they sooner or later stop to come at my side if they are single tanks or teams of two. Three keep trying.. but they get seriously harmed too, as I dont wait in my campsopt to be taken out once they reach me.. instead I retreat a little, keep shooting, or I drive around my defense structure (house) and keep backstabbing them once they reach our base.

A Titan could never do that.. they would get my flag while my titan respawns. Even if they kill me, I am fast enough to get my tank into a sniper position to snipe them at their way back home; which a heavy hull can not do as well. If they spawn bad, the flag is lost.

Therefore Wasp defense is awesome.

Usually it takes 10..15min until they realise, that they have to take me out and not just pass by me in order to make it home save

it has lost it's crispy drive and agile cornering.

I started my tanki career with a Hornet. I used only this hull from m0 to M1.. and shortly before I purchased the M2 I tried out a Wasp.

Man.. this moment made me smile, even it was only an M0 Wasp at an alt.

The perfect cornering.. a hull that drives where you lead it to, and not skidds where it wants to. So awesome.

Witch each modification (M1, M2) the smile became bigger.. and it was a serious aspect of having fun in this game.

Now.. this fun is gone. It's just a hull.. lost it's precision and agility.

I dont mind the speedloss so much, as other hulls are slower too; but the loss of agility is what hurts.

During the update the turning acceleration was reduced. Turning acceleration is [not how fast it turns], but [how quickly it start to change to the turn that you desire].

Agility before updata: antilope

With Wasp you could drive a slalom.

You drive fwd and press left. The wasp starts into the turn almost insantly, and buikd up turning speed (degree per second) fast. You ride a nice left turn around something and then sweep _immediately_ to the right into a right curve.. and it worked great. As it didn't drift it was an awesome ride.

Agility after update: spongebob with a heavy cart

You drive fwd and press left. The wasp starts into the turn almost slowly... takes time to build up turning speed. Your resulting curve radius is much wider (+100%? 2x as wide curves -.-) you press the right-button and the wasp does slllowly start to sweep less to the left.. and later builds up turning to the right. This curve is even wider.

You were able to drive a slalom at full speed.. now cant (or only with much larger curve radius.. feels like 2x the radius).

The speed was noticeable decreased, but as all hulls go slower it is not so hard. Except that a M3 Tian on Nitro is maybe as fast an an M2 wasp without (sick).

Wasp.. is sooo much less fun now.

Decreasing the parameters that make a Wasp good is essentially an extreme nerf on a hull that is a little bit UP. It's slightly increased HP is no compensation for the drastically reduced maneuverability (which is why I got Wasp in the first place). I suppose I can learn to use this updated hull, but I will have to completely change my developed tactics to do so.
