M2 railgun minimum base damage is 88, so both M1 and M2 wasp can survive 1 light shot.

 

M2 wasp can also survive a shot @ maximum damage: M2 rail has 135 base damage; M2 wasp has 136 base protection.

Well, buying an m2 hornet and upgrading it's health by 16 steps is equivalent to the cost of buying an m2 wasp. So, there is zero difference from a crystal standpoint as well.

I agree on the point that an m2 wasp cannot be one-shotted without micro upgrades by an m2 railgun. But, the odds of an m1 wasp surviving an m2 rail shot without micro upgrades or a paint is VERY low. Edited November 1, 2014 by I.WalkAlone

Why did I MU M1 Wasp about 15 times so far? Because I'm not willing to spend crystals on the turd M2 Hornet, and my Wasp is a huge beast ATM, especially with my protective paints. Only down  on M1 Hornet on HP by 2-3 points, and with 11.01 speed and 70 turning speed, this baby is more than enough to get me to Colonel, whereas if I hadn't MUed, I'd be pretty much forced into the hull that I hate (ok... not hate, but dislike muchly :P).

Why am I MUing my M2 Hunter? Because 190 HP and 8.5 speed isn't quite enough to get me to Field Marshal. And I cannot stand Viking's size, shape, and turning, even if M2 does have great stats. Eventually that would be a huge waste of crystals for me - MUing would not be a waste, as I actually enjoy this hull and the MUs pay off via that enjoyment.

It would of cost me way more to buy a Hornet then to slightly MU my Wasp. If I had the rank for M2 Wasp, I wouldn't buy and M2 Hornet neither continue M1 Wasp, I would get the better Mod of Wasp.

 

This argument is about what would you do if you had the chance to get something, would you do it or not. MU's in that circumstance are worthless. I never said MU's are worthless  -_-

I dont see the point of muing wasp m1 so much. I mean yes, I mued it myself quite a bit. But its better to save up and rank up! Im ranking in 30k xp. I want to stay colonel for a loong time. My goals for colonel are rail, smoky and wasp m2. I'm already saving up for christmas ^_^
