Let's Discuss Paints!

In my opinion, paints are a waste until about Brigadier or Major-ish. There are always better paints compared to other ones (e.g: Prodigi and Digital, Clay and Spark, Inferno and Python, etc...) and it makes much more sense to save up for the best paint against a single turret rather than for an M2 or M1 paint.

I'm using Forester, and I don't think I'll switch any time soon. There isn't any need.

I used to have a Captian account, and I wasted so many crystals on paints over equipment. They really aren't worth it until Major and above, I would say.

same here i use this acc in rare cases

One question, is prodigi abused in high ranks?

it's not abused, it's just common because Railgun and Thunder are very common.

Anyone can tell me how Firebird protection influences the overheating from Vulcan?

I always use it with it, but I don't know if it actually reduces the damage/sec it takes from overheating, or if it reduces the amount of time it takes to cooldown.

Hey guys, dirty or alien?

I would say Dirty because Shafts are more common than Isidas (and more anoying). But these are two completely different paintings...

Hey guys, dirty or alien?

I'd recommend you not to buy any of them since both paints only have a decent protection against 1 specific weapon. Wait for better paints to unlock.

Hello guys, here is something that might help you to decide what to buy.

Enjoy!

*Paints Champion, Acid, Veteran, Helper, Star, Lucky 7, Lord, Silver, Bronze and Gladiator are not being sold in the garage. Those paints are given as prizes to the winners in different tournaments.

--More information about paints you can find herehere, or on the official wiki page.

**Resists that reduce weapon power by quarter and more are marked with different color. Blue: 25%-39%. Red: 40%-50%

Updated to the release #190

You should update this. Gladiator doesn't have protection from railgun... just sayin no hate pls

There are no mine, Vulcan, or Hammer protections, listed either. And a "total" line would be nice too.

I'm having a debate between Emerald and Inferno.

I'd like Emerald, because I'm a Thunder user, and I'm usually in the middle of the fight. Consequently, I take a Ton of splash damage. Twins are also an issue for me. I play a lot of polygon cp, and it's not uncommon to see a few twins there.

On the other hand, I'd like Inferno, because, like I mentioned above, I'm in the middle of the fight. This includes going for flags in Noise matches, where it's almost guaranteed that there will be a firebird, twins, or freeze defending.

I'm leaning towards Emerald for a few reasons:

1) Green is my favorite color. :P

2) It has railgun protection

3) Heavy Thunder protection

Which one do you guys think I should get?

I should say that my current paint is Corrosion, so I am in dire need of a paint update.

Can Rustle with MUs means I can skip Emerald and go to Prodigi? I don't like the other protections on Emerald.  :(

I guess so but keep in mind that mu's arent included in most pro battles

I currently use Hornet, Viking, Smoky, and Firebird (only Firebird is M1) as well as Forester paint.  Recently, however, I have seen that Ricochet is a common (notoriously common?) weapon being used.  Anyhow, what is a good paint to utilize with my above equipment?  Additionally, should I really get protection from Hammer?  Thanks in advance.

Get the most decent- looking paint available, and that's all. Use this paint at least till major before you change to a seriously useful one.

In PRO-battles without MU Emerald works better against thunder of course, but its protection from Twins and Railgun is indeed not necessary, not very useful or remarkable. Therefore I'd suggest you to skip Emerald and go for Prodigi. I've got Emerald in my garage and the last time I used it was more than 6 months ago. ;)

Ricochet is notoriously common used at your rank and it's still being used commonly at higher ranks. Therefore some good protection paint is comfortable. If you rank up twice, you're able to buy Dragon which has 28% protection against ricochet, however I recommend you not to spend to many crystals to paints now. Achieve higher ranks and buy better paints then. The paints that unlock at low ranks are not useful anymore at higher ranks. As for Hammer, some protection is welcome, but it's not necessary in my opinion. Vulcan is more dangerous.

after extensive homework :D I think Africa, Zeus and clay covers from all of the turrets with at least 3 protections or more each. only exception being shaft and isida. so alien and dirty for them. how is this idea. I think it is a cost effective plan, rather than buying lower paints with lesser percent or number of protection. what do you think? constructive suggestions are most welcome.

Don't go for Alien or Dirty. They indeed have a decent protection against Isida and Shaft respectively, but you'll hardly use them in battles. They only offer proper protection against 1 specific weapon and are therefore quite useless in my opinion.

Thanks for the advice.  BTW, I have enjoyed playing in the following maps throughout my Tanki career:

Esplanade

Subway

Aleksandrof

Berlin

Bobruisk

Brest

Kungur
Silence
etc.

Thus, I have been thinking about getting only In Love and/or Corrosion until reaching Major.  Additionally, I'll preferably alternate between long-range (Smoky, no Rail or Shaft) and short range (Firebird and maybe Isida or Freeze).
Are these paints sound enough for my long walk across WO's and Lieutenants?  Or is my Forester paint (and maybe Dragon paint too) enough?  Thanks in advance.

Buy XL starter Kit(9.5) if you still see it. Has Dragon -for rico+, storm - for firebird+, and dirty for rail and  shaft. No Better deal in game for paints. I am still using these 3 paints, haven't bought any.

Addenda- Corrosion is an excellent choice as far as to actually  buy a paint in game.
