Let's Discuss Paints!

I'm not sure if anyone else has mentioned this, but I think it's smart to enter a battle, find out which turrets are dominant there (either because many players are using the same turret or because one or two players with that turret are clobbering everyone else), then visit your Garage the next time you get killed, and switch to a paint that protects against that turret.  Why would you use Prodigi, which gives huge protection against Railgun, in a battle where half the players are using Firebird?  There is no one perfect all-purpose paint, so get a handful of good paints in your garage, and use the one that's best for the situation.

Giving your paints a level or two of MU can give you a slight edge; do it if you can afford it.

Switching paints is great advice. I keep Sandstone for most battles due to Rail and Thunder protection. If I drop into a Rico heavy battle I switch to Dragon. For Fire heavy battles, I use Marine but I am definitely looking for a better Firebird resistant paint. Suggestions welcome.

Clay, a superb paint against three very common mid- to far range weapons.

A must have IMO.

"I am definitely looking for a better Firebird resistant paint.  Suggestions welcome."  Loam (36%) is one of the best, and is also the best you can get at your rank. (I intend to get it, next time we have a sale).  If you need to economize, go with Storm (20%).

Just my opinion :D based on isida user eyes, other maybe different.

To be honest Zeus and Clay was good, but now some protection is feel weak, as some turret become uncommon.

Example 1. Zeus, its was good. but only in small map.

In middle or big map, u tend to see some isida, smoky, railgun, hammer mess with you.

Example 2. Clay, its was good. but thunder is rare now (as far I concern)

Also middle hull mostly survive against thunder double damaged.

Thus I think that paint is good but if you think again, you can use another paint that more effectively helping in most battle (excluding small map).

Here my recommended paint based on turret user.

Africa

Africa is for those who good at short attack but more weak against middle attack.

Good for isida, firebird, freeze, hammer.

Lumberjack

Lumberjack is for those who good at long attack (and hide) but more weak against surprise short attack.

Good for shaft, vulcan, railgun.

Moderate for all turret exclude above.

Why? Smart Fire Freeze Isida girl (or other (gay)) (or guy) tend to hate and avoid their protection enemy. so its not effective to attack them. (Of course in TDM DM those condition is not apply)

Here my recommended paint based on map.

Nano

Those Firebird Smoky Ricochet Hammer is like to having party in polygon hotel.

Also on DM park and TDM pool

They loyal customer in there. and a lot too.

Beware at railgun camera flash. And Isida crowd.

Good for all turret user who loyal customer in Polygon DM TDM.

Nice blue, its make you feel futuristic (Doraemon)

Here my recommended paint based on enemy.

Digital

Wild Smoky and Wild railgun is running in city now.

Why u prefer this to savanna? coz savanna lack railgun protection.

Smoky 10% protection is purefek with Isida Hunter or Viking.

If not, full mued smoky 21% is mostly help enough.

Now u can take bath or showering with railgun and smoky :3

Shaft mostly fail in 1 shot too (bad prediction). sound sweet :3.

You can also cooking in middle of green spot without other notice :3

Just that I know. This is based on isida user eyes, other maybe different.

Just tips, well, in small map battle make sure the opponent is not have strong paint collection, if they do have. better reconsider your chance to win :3

Generalismo battle is hard T_T

Used to be that one needed protection from Rail, then Thunder, then Ricochet.

Now it's Fire, then Rail, then Twins or Smoky, which has made a comeback, especially at mid to upper mid ranks (M2).

Buying expensive paints to counter every rebalance is a waste of crystals... I usually recommend buying the cheapest paint which gets you the basic protection from a given turret. This usually works but not for Firebird. Marine paint is a joke... I'm going to experiment with Storm and Loam to see if they are effective. Polygon is crawling with Firebirds so anyone going there needs to be ready.

I am looking for a paint to put on my M2 hornet so I can play format battles.  I also want something with thunder protection for normal battles.  Do you think it would be best to buy Sandstone, which includes the features I want, or to get Fracture and Cedar for nearly the same price?

I use and recommend Sandstone, but it does not have the Fire prot you need.

Thanks.  I already have storm at 24% Fire protection, so I am good there.  I am still leaning toward getting Fracture and Cedar simply because I can get 30% more protection for the same price.

What do you play? Serperov and kunger or silence and polygon? Roger for the later, tundra for the former.

Well, I play in like multiple maps. I need a paint which is suitable for me. My alt's best combo is Firebird M1 + Dictator M1. I use BP M1 :( I even use hammer with dictator when there's too much of firebirds. What do you mean by "Roger for the later, Tundra for the former?" because it sounds to be I should buy Tundra first then Roger?
