how much protection does a paint need in order for it to be considered effective against that turret?

Depends on the turret and the Hull. A wasp with 5% Twins protection is no good at all. It doesn't have the armor to make the 5% do its job. On the other hand if you use a darn Mammoth, it can take more than 20 shots and thus cover a full shot.

 

For a Wasp with Shaft-paint, that'd be interesting. I used Lead with Wasp previously, and I liked how Shafts didn't know how much to charge. They charge too much? Wasted their time and I sometimes would have already moved to cover. Shoot to little? I survive.

 

 

 

Really my opinion would be 30%+

 

Although a .Forester on a Wasp isn't too bad either. You'll be able to survive Railguns! :D

I don't think Freeze is rampant at that rank. Hence why I'd prefer Swash. Really, this is all you getting mad because my opinion is different to yours; I already know you're mad due to all the "crack," comments and whatnot. When you calm down, let me know.

I'm not mad, I think your an ***** and quite frankly seeing your dumb comments is making my morning.  Someone asks advice, I gave good advice that most high rankers used to get there and you seem to want to argue with everything I say.  Good luck with your dictator m2 and your swash paint.  I can't wait until you run into freezes and thunders with no protection from them.  Thunder rail and freeze are the most common guns at the person who asked about the paints rank.  Thats why I advised get Jaguar vs Swash.  Your advising he gets a protective paint from twins, smoky, firebird and isida.  Three of those are probably the most underused turrets in the game at your rank.  WHy would he get protection from the most underused turrets?

And it's not how it happened; someone asks for advice, I said Swash, you disagreed by saying Jaguar; I disagreed with what you said then you bring up crack pipes and stuff like an *****. I'm not gonna mention that again because I've already done that twice and your ignorance is a relentless fortress of solitude. And they're not the most common; they might have been back in your day but they're not now; hence why I said SWASH; Twins do get popular, loads of people are getting it M1, loads of people crave the self-healing and the nasty afterburns along with the critical hits (regarding Isida, Firebird and Smoky) They're not the most underused at all; infact, all the turrets are more or less equally used though the same can't be said for the hulls.

I usually play on Serpuhov, Silence, Iran, Kungar, Bobruisk, and Future. I am more of an attacker but will defend if I see people coming for our flag/winning and just need to run out time. What paint, unlocked at major or lower, should I get?

if you play big maps like kungur, Bobruisk, superhov and silence I suggest you to get a paint with protection against mid/high range weapons.

Well you do play in big maps. I'd say Electra will only attract attention. It's like telling enemy Snipers '' Shoot me! Shoot me!'' And think about, a drugging Isida? 100% Death.

 

If you've got a serious problem with Railgun, then I'd suggest that. If you get lucky, you may be able to survive 2 shots from M1 Railgun. :)

 

It takes 3-shots from a Thunder M1 at medium range to kill an M1 Viking. Cedar does add a difference. . . .oh it does. . . .and Thunder is a deadly weapon if you've no paint.
