I use m2 Hunter with m2 Ricochet and at my rank, it is literally OP, still I am interrested to find out how it will do on higher Ranks.

Have used my M3 viking for quite some time - and it performs well.

 

After the "update" you have what I used to have. Performance-wise you should do fine.

I don't find it vulnerable at all, it's smaller and heavyer than viking and definetly not unstable anymore. The height is also good for shooting higher, catching golds and shaking people off of your hull.

I do agree, that smoky isn't the best turret with hunter, but it's not that bad either, expesially now that hunter handles close combat better, due to the added strenght. The "hitting edges is hard" thing only applies to fighting vikings (which are also easyer to knock off now that they are lighter) other hulls are usually high enough (atleast for my thunder) to knock off.

 

Frankly i think hunter got a whole lot better after the update, similar health with dico and viking makes it more capable in drugwars, and the added weight and acceleration give it some nice pushing power and stability.

I think your problem is that you have an m2 at a rank this high as do i, and many people you and me fight have m3 guns and hulls, that are harder to knock off, push, give hareder punch and make hunter seem weak, even though it's not. Afterall hunter m2 is a hull that unlocks at captain.

Im definetly getting hunter m3 over viking, unless i get a really good deal.

i think hunter is underrated and one of the best hull in the game

my conclusion is that it is the simplest, mediumist(is that a word :lol:), and most basic piece of equipment in the whole entire game. :mellow:

Right now Hunter seems well worth the cost. It's the kind of hull that you could use in any map in any game mode. At high ranks light hulls just get destroyed too fast because majority of the players tend to use guns with really high DPS. I think Hunter's worth buying and everyone should have it in their garage because sometimes neither light nor heavy hulls work in some circumstances.

I love it. I think that Hunter is most underrated hull. In right hands, it will do job well. Don't buy anything else and you can spend your crystals in microups and drugs. Then you dominate the battlefield.

I'm looking at M3 hulls / turrets for when I grow up (I'm currently a bragidier). When comparing Hunter to Viking, what reason can there be to choose Hunter? Protection of Viking is the same, but viking is considerably faster and a bit lower and more stable then Hunter. Only reason I can see now is when it is offered in a kit you want. Also in the battles I see Viking a lot but I hardly see Hunter.

I have used Hunter quite a lot in M2 but I like Viking more (I have Viking M2 in another account). Hunter is quite mediocre. They should make it a bit faster or up the protection a bit to make the M3 interesting.

Any thoughts about this?

For the most part, Hunter is more stable than Viking now. Hunter is considerably heavier and is more "centered" in terms of shape; it's not as easy for a Smoky or a Hammer to aim at a corner of a Hunter, and you will be rotated less upon impact because the edges are closer to its center of gravity. It is easier to "rock" your tank with Hunter than it is with Viking, which is helpful with weapons like Railgun, and Hunter has better handling and acceleration than Viking.

 

Viking is good for players who generally want to play offensively because of the better top speed. Hunter is good for players who are more inclined to midfield or defend because of the weight and acceleration.

I agree. looking at the statistics of the 3 medium range hulls viking, hunter, and dictator, hunter snugly fits there right in the middle. It can play support extremely well in the right hands, but it's not extremely good at any other things. If you were going for a more offensive play, viking would be for you, if you were going for gold boxes and pushing, that would be dictator.

Yes, there is. It has decent speed, weight, strength, hp, etc. The new generation of M3 buyers will gravitate toward Hunter as opposed to Viking and Dictator IMO.

I find that Hunter works as a great mid fielder, and if you stick a powerful turret on it, it becomes great at enemy suppression. The ability to actually rock your hull in a medium tank is very appealing to me, and for 2 reasons. It makes hitting targets on low elevations much easier, and it also gives it a much better maneuverability than Viking, which feels somewhat slowly and dim witted when it turns, where as Hunter feels much lighter and nimbler when it turns.
